Anyone else make these in ceramics about 40 years ago?
My mom made one! I think she still has it!
Yes, but without the lights; I can’t believe they are back “in style”; guess I got tired of mine after a few years as I think I donated it or gave it away.
I did!! But not quite 40 years ago, about 30-35 years ago. In my early 20’s my Mom and I went to a Ceramics class every Tuesday night. Such fun and we made so many cool things. I had my ceramic christmas tree, a ceramic Santa and a couple other christmas themed ceramics packed away in a box. That box has been “lost” in my house for about 8 years now (I think it’s time to deep clean the attic!).
I had no nostalgia connected to these, per se, since nobody in my extended family had ever made one or displayed one at Christmas, but when I bought my first house in 2016, I really wanted one of the vintage ones made back in the 70s/80s, so I went on a search through antique stores & Facebook sites, etc. Ended up with 3 of them that way, and so began my collection! I’ve since discovered a woman in my town who has the vintage molds & now has her own ceramics shop so that I can paint another one whenever I want. She makes all kinds of fantastic designs herself as well and sells them in her ship & ships them all over the country! I’m up to 8 now . . . and probably not stopping there! Such an innocent beginning . . . LOL
