Last year, Taco Bell did a promo for a free $5 eGift Card when you purchased a $10 eGift Card. I purchased a $100 gift card and got ten $5 bonus eGift Cards. And not a single one of these 11 gift cards worked. Thousands of others were complaining on Facebook, Twitter, and so on with little to no response from Taco Bell. I sent an e-mail with no response as well. I had to dispute this charge with my credit company to get reimbursed.

In addition, the bonus $5 eGift Cards were all set to expire on December 24th BEFORE we could gift them.

      WOW thanks for sharing

None of our local Taco Bell’s knew how to use the actual e-gift cards that we had paid for and printed. And Taco Bell never replied to any of my emails as to how they could help.

Last year I think I bought or thought I bought a regular gift card from Taco Bell. What they told me was just show your receipt – there was no actual card. Sure, like a Taco Bell will honor a receipt. I complained about that and received no response. I would never buy a gift card directly from them. Not to mention the recent fiasco with their Xbox contest – I mailed in 30 postcards to receive early codes and did not receive a single code. Complained about that too and the response was check with the prize company (which I had already done). I do like their crunchwraps though!

I had no problem using my regular or bonus cards last year …. read the fine print. You must order online in order to use the e cards you cannot print them out and redeem them in store.

Agreed…I ordered through the app and encountered no issues.

I did read the fine print. I would never print an eGift Card to bring to a physical store. I added my $100 eGift Card and ten $5 Bonus eGift Cards to my Taco Bell account and it would never take my orders with any of the gift cards. I tried to order on my phone app and computer for the course of a month before e-mailing Taco Bell and the gift card processing company they used because I saw the complaints all over social media and thought “I’ll just try again later to see if they fix it then.” Thousands of others had the same issue and many weren’t resolved. Neither of my e-mails were responded to. And the Facebook page never responded to my inquiry message though I heard those on Twitter got some responses. I gave it that entire month before disputing the charge with my credit card for a full refund; Citi sent them an inquiry that they never responded to for two months which closed the case in my favor.

It’s a bit of a pain, but all you have to do is load the e-cards and the bonus cards to your online account. You can place your orders there to either pick up at the counter or in the drive through. They also offer some extra coupons through your account, so I was able to apply an extra 15% off to my order. Total steal after a long night at the football stadium!
