Here’s what Troyen Brennan, Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of CVS Health, had to say –

“Being committed to the welfare of those we serve means being responsive to evolving needs and acting swiftly. This is particularly true in times of uncertainty. The latest steps we’re taking will help ensure patients of all ages have every option available to them when it comes to filling prescriptions.”

Note that order cutoff times may vary by delivery option and pharmacy location and 1 to 2 day delivery is only available on orders placed Monday through Thursday. Head here for more details.

That’s a good step, the pharmacies are crowded and no one ever thinks of the protection of health care workers. I wish more would be done like for example expansion of telemedecine.

It’s terrible. I work at a pharmacy in a state that’s currently on lockdown. People are still coming in to just meander around. Our Governor says to only go out for essentials. Apparently that means hair ties and face cream to some people. It’s needlessly dangerous for all of us in the store.

Our cvs pharmacy doesn’t deliver 🙁

Seriously?? I am a pharmacist and work at an independent pharmacy and we offer free delivery everyday all day for ANYONE!!! Please do not promote these huge chains who treat their employees like slaves!!

Not everyone has an option besides a chain where they live.

Wish I had known this I just dealt with a nasty cvs pharmacist at my area today in Washington state.

Many stores don’t know how to arrange the delivery. I spent 3 hours today trying to get RX sent to my 80+ yr old mom. Two stores kept telling me that the delivery needed to be arranged on the CVS website. Not true. Finally after sitting on the phone for a long hold time I was able to get someone from corporate to call the store directly. CVS does not have their act together on this. I feel sorry for those older folks that don’t have an advocate. CVS need to better train their stores on how to do this shipping.

As a cvs pharmacist i can tell you its a hell of alot easier the first way (you get the text that your prescription is ready and you follow the link and put your credit card info online). Otherwise i have to open like 4 different scree ns, give you a code, and transfer you to a separate phone line to enter your credit card (which alot of elderly still can’t do). then you have to call me back to request the delivery. All while our staff is overworked and understaffed from the increased traffic we are seeing. Some stores may be even using new employees /front store cashiers to deal with the new demand who dont know how to do it anyway.

Walgreens is doing the same thing. Please be patient if you do go to the pharmacy. They are being over loaded and hours are being cut at many pharmacies.

Thanks for the helpful comment, Jen!
