Is the $40 Slumber Sleep App Worth It? Let Me Explain…
Sweet dreams, darling! 😴
Sick and tired of restless nights? Sleeping with Slumber is like a dream come true. This sleep app has received thousands of 5-star reviews boasting quality content that really does aid in a good night’s rest. It’s truly the best sleep app out there!
I’m always looking to improve my Z’s so I gave the Slumber sleep app a try, and I was hooked after just two serene nights of guided meditations. I started by giving their FREE 7-day trial a shot, but ultimately ended up subscribing to this service right away so I could gain access to even more meditations with an upgrade to premium.
Better sleep does come at a price.
I’ll be the first to say that the $39.99 annual subscription price for the premium version Slumber isn’t cheap (though there are other apps that do charge more), but I need to you trust me on this — that $40 has completely improved the quality and ease of sleep I get each night! Think of it this way: if you were asked to pay 11¢ each night to get an amazing night of sleep, wouldn’t you?! 💤
And no, this is NOT a sponsored post. I honestly am kinda obsessed with this sleep app and highly recommend it, so I wanted to share since I know so many can relate to my struggle with sleep.
If you’re in the market for a better night’s rest, here’s why I recommend making this sleep induction app part of your bedtime routine, and why I think it’s the best sleep app.
Slumber, the sleep app, really does help you sleep!
Constant tossing and turning before finally drifting off into a deep sleep used to be a nightly occurrence for me. I first tried Slumber while visiting my in-laws and sleeping in my husband’s ancient, creaky, too-small bed from 2005 (it was as bad as it sounds).
I didn’t notice how much it helped me fall asleep at first, but when my husband told me that I was out like a light the next morning, I was pleasantly surprised! The voices that guide you through sleep meditations and stories are so soothing, it’s almost angelic!
Thanks to Slumber, I stare at the ceiling less and fall asleep faster. 🙌
Slumber is a user-friendly sleep app.
When you’re ready to hit the hay, Slumber makes things easy to navigate so you’re not wasting precious sleep time searching around the app. Whether you’re in the mood for nature sounds or a dream story, you can easily explore the different categories relevant to your sleep preferences.
If you’re not sure where to begin, there’s a “popular episodes” category to help you make a good selection right off the bat. In addition to the impressive library of sleep meditations, there’s also an option to add background effects like rain, fire, rustling leaves, and many more.
Want your sleep guide to play a bit longer? Just click the “loop episode” button to hear it once, twice, or on repeat.
The narration is simply therapeutic.
One of the most important factors in a good sleep app for me is the voice of the narrator. It’s the last voice you’ll likely hear before entering dreamland, so you’ll want it to be easy on the ears.
Fortunately, nearly all of the narrators featured on the Slumber sleep app are tranquil and relaxing. Every meditation episode displays the name of the narrator so that you can easily keep track of the ones you prefer to listen to.
You can listen to new episodes every week on Slumber.
The free version of Slumber offers quite a bit compared to other free sleep apps, but you’ll get even more good stuff when you upgrade to premium. As you browse through the extensive library of sleep meditations, soundscapes, and dream stories, you’ll find newly added episodes every week.
Doze off to Relax on the Mountain tonight and Castle in the Sky tomorrow night. Either way, you’ll be looking forward to shut-eye in no time!
The Slumber sleep app is FREE for 7 days before giving you the choice to upgrade to premium.
Slumber lets you try out the premium version free for 7 days, so if you give the app a shot but don’t think it’s worth the annual subscription price of $39.99, you can cancel before the end of your week.
Before I upgraded to premium, I browsed other sleep apps and found that most subscriptions were $20-$30 more. I’m all about keeping money in my pocket, which is why it was an easy decision to choose Slumber. And again, at only 11¢ each night for the most peaceful, restful, and rejuvenating sleep, the $39.99 a year price tag is SO worth it!
Sleep doesn’t have to be a nightmare!
If you’re tired of bedtime being a battle, Slumber might be the game-changer you need to catch up on your Z’s. 😴 Whether you struggle with insomnia or just want to fall asleep faster, this sleep app could really help! It’s the best!
Read one of the many rave reviews from Slumber users…
“I was very hesitant to pay $40 a year for an app I was unsure if I’d consistently use. On top of that, I felt like the week long trial wasn’t enough time for me to determine how well this app worked. Well, I decided to risk it anyway and I am so glad I did.
This app puts me to sleep within 30 minutes, and now my fiancé can’t sleep without it, either! All of the narrators have soothing voices that somehow magically put me to sleep. I love knowing that every night, no matter how wired my brain is or what my sleeping pattern was like the night before, I can always rely on this app to get me to fall asleep.
The last time I dealt with insomnia was the reason why I downloaded this app— I haven’t dealt with it since! My mind is able to relax and slow down thanks to this app, thus helping me to fall into a deep slumber. I love this app and have recommended it to all of my family and friends!”
Need some sleepwear to make bedtime even better? These soft and stretchy Amazon pajamas won’t disappoint!
Thanks so much for this post hip2save! Does anyone have any recommendations for mediations apps etc for a 5year old???? My daughter struggles to fall asleep sometime it takes her hours even when she is calm
Moshi! It’s great, my 5 year old loves it.
Thanks everyone for all the suggestions!!!
My child uses Moshi, Insight Timer, Calm and Headspace interchangeably. I may try this one too- the cost is worth the better sleep! We like all the apps I mentioned- she has just listened to every story multiple times already!
Try Cory’s Conscious Living on YouTube. My daughter has been going to sleep too her for 5 years! Super cute and fun stories to help get them to sleep
Cosmickids.com has some awesome meditation resources, but I believe they are mostly videos. Smiling Mind is a great meditation app for kids of all ages though. I hope you find something that helps your daughter doze off faster!
The calm app which was listed here on Hip2Save last week is free for one year if you are an American Express card holder regularly like 70 bucks a year. It has sleep stories on it and even though they are kind of for adults they are OK for children they kind of lull you into sleep and I usually fall asleep before the story is over. One of them is about Rapunzel the fairy tale and there’s one story that Matthew McConaughey reads and I always fall asleep before it is over and I have had sleep problems for years and years in this calm app is really helping.
Yay, I’m so glad you like Calm and it actually helps you fall asleep! I’ve listened to the Matthew McConaughey one too and it is seriously therapeutic🙌
The Slumber app has a category for children!
I am for sure interested and have a question. Is there a completely free version of this app that does not require a subscription? Or, is it free for 7 days and then you have to pay to keep it. And if there is a free version, is it good enough? Thanks for the clarification.
There is a free section of episodes in the app. I have been using just the free ones for over a year. Granted you don’t have the selection of the full app and you have to repeat the same ones often but if your looking to save money it works. 🙂
I’m so glad you’ve been using Slumber and loving it! Yay for peaceful sleep!🙌
Thank you! I’ll try that first!
Hey there, L! Yes, you can still use the free version after your 7-day premium trial is up (just make sure you cancel before the end of your week so you don’t get charged)! The free version still offers a lot of great stuff though in my opinion!🙌
By the way, there are thousands of free meditations on YouTube or sleepy sounds or music
I agree I use YouTube for all of my meditation needs. Free & effective
Agreed! There are all kinds of great ones on YouTube, I love the gratitude meditations!
Does anyone know how Slumber compares with the sleep meditations on the Insight Timer app?
I have not compared the two unfortunately, Jennifer. Hopefully someone else can shed some light!
Thanks for sharing this 🙏🏻
I use headspace I wonder if this app is comparable to what I currently have if it is they are offering it for free to anyone who is out of work although I have had a subscription for months now and love this app…
I’m glad you enjoyed this, Tipaye! Wishing you peaceful Z’s!❤️
What volume do you have this play on for an iPhone? I have an iPhone XE.
Hey there, Kim! I have an iPhone and I usually keep the volume at a low to medium level. I also add nature sounds in the background because I like a little bit of white noise with meditations. It’s definitely loud enough to hear the narrator clearly, but mellow enough to not bother my sleeping husband lol!
