Mom’s don’t want stuff. They want your time! Or come wash my windows or mulch my flower beds or just take me out for a nice meal but not on the day when it is so crowded.
Very true
Thumbs up Lana. Other than the candle, this junk ends up in a land fill. ๐ฟ. Trinkets from China
Agreed. The emphasis on “stuff” is so frustrating. I don’t like holidays that focus on gift giving to be honest. It’s done out of obligation more so out of genuine desire, at least for me. I would rather give/receive on a random occasion something that is practical and thoughtful. I see it as much more meaningful.
Marketing at its best, using our emotions to buy. I agree random acts of kindness is where the pure care and concern exists. ๐ฝ. Funny though we are supposed to buy metal straws etc etc to save our environment. But itโs okay to buy random junk, without any practical use that ultimately ends up in a land fill. I want to spend this year questioning my purchases as to whether I actually need this and how this item actually effects my environment and health.
I completely agree. Since my birthday is the week before Mother’s Day, I am asking for a 2-in-1 this year. My husband and 2 teen boys are going to take all of the furniture out of our bedroom so we can lay down a new rug (which I have wanted for years). We are going to polish all of the furniture, wipe down the walls, pull down curtains to go to the cleaners, etc. It is a HUGE job but that’s what I want. They (somewhat reluctantly) agreed!
I cherish the homemade gifts my children have given me. But now I prefer spending time with the children.
These are sweet and thoughtful ideas! The tea cup set is adorable!
I always ask for a hand written letter (preferably in cursive so my kids can practice). Maybe one day Iโll get it ๐๐
I think it depends on the receiver’s love language. Some people feel love through gift giving/receiving, others through acts of service or quality time, etc. To each their own. Cute ideas!
