Ross Is Planning to Open 100 New Stores This Year (Including Their Discount Stores)
While much of the retail world struggles to stay afloat, Ross Stores continued to grow throughout the pandemic and they are still expanding their footprint this year! In fact, Ross recently announced that it plans to add around 100 new stores (75 Ross Dress for Less locations and 25 dd’s DISCOUNTS) during the 2022 fiscal year.
These plans are already well underway, with the addition of 22 new Ross Dress for Less locations and eight dd’s DISCOUNTS stores in 15 different states and Guam since February alone.
With the latest store openings, the company currently operates a combined total of 1,952 Ross Dress for Less and dd’s DISCOUNTS locations in 40 states, the District of Columbia, and Guam.
A company spokesperson has said that “given consumers’ ongoing focus on value and convenience,” Ross could ultimately grow to 2,900 locations and dd’s DISCOUNTS could eventually include 700 stores.
To find out if there is a new store near you, enter your city, state, or Zip Code into the retailer’s Store Locator. Existing stores will be shown on the map in blue, and new stores will be designated with orange stars.
Ross is ok but TJ Maxx & Marshall’s are much better imo. I went to a dd’s once in Florida and walked right out. It was an absolute dump.
Does anyone else feel like the quality of Marshall’s and TJ Maxx merchandise has really taken a huge decline? I have shopped at both places for decades and feel like most items there are now are very cheaply made. My problem used to be that I would go into one of these stores and have to whittle down the items in my cart to what I could afford to buy. Now most trips I walk out empty-handed because I don’t want to buy something that will only last a half-dozen washings.
I agree hold heartily. The quality of the clothing is of 3rd World Countries, and the shoes, oh my gosh. The management has taken a nose dive. They buy clothes for older women, long dresses for 6 or 7 ft women instead of a variety of lengths. I don’t shop there anymore for clothes. But, I will shop for household goods.
Yes, I live in Florida, and I don’t like DD’s either.
Ross is a “Hit-or-Miss” kind of store. The prices are much better and if you are 55+ there is the 10% discount on Tuesday’s. It depends on the location as well. I found really nice Calvin Klein dresses for $12.99 in one store. In another, I found Mac lipsticks for $4.49.
Thank you for the information on the senior discount; I did not know this. 🎉
Ross is not equal across the country. Their west coast stores are 10X better IMO. Out in CA they have much better prices and inventory then back in NC and I’m not sure why there is such a stark difference. But they are at least 20% cheaper for the same items than TJX or Marshalls. They also have some very good buyers in all of their departments. If you really love the deal, I would always check them out. Especially great finds for me in womens high end athletic wear.
We need a Ross up here in Hartford, Connecticut.
