I have other dutch ovens but this is my favorite. The black interior is why I bought it because I can’t stand how the white interior is always staining and looks bad. This pot also works better on electric stoves than others I have. The four qt size is perfect for most of my cooking for a family of four.
We bought the Staub because it’s smaller than the huge similar one we own and much heavier. It’s easier to handle. The Staub has earned a permanent place on our gas cooker. We use it to bake bread, make chowders and soups, and much much more. It’s all as it’s advertised to be.
Perfect for making bread, stew, or just about anything. I was happy to get a great sale so I treated myself and two daughters to the cocotte. It is awesome. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes to cook. Enameled cast iron is so worth it!

I’m over here trying to buy this and find out the recipe for that bread looking thing in the first pic. Whatever it is, I want it! lol
I could go for some of that, too! I wish I knew what it was, Kina!
I made a bread recipe that had to be baked in a cast iron Dutch oven. It’s called no knead bread. Easy and worth the effort. It just needed some time to rise.
While the dutch oven can be heated to 500 degrees, the glass lid can only safely be heated to 440 degrees which is not hot enough for sourdough bread. Also the directions say don’t heat it empty which is what you do when preheating for baking bread. Sadly, am returning mine.
