One of the trendiest toys of the last year is facing a recall! On June 25th, an official recall was issued for 21 million units of MGA’s Miniverse Make It Mini Sets with liquid resins.

If you purchased one, stop using it immediately. You may be entitled to a refund or replacement.

The recall includes the “Make it Mini Appliances,” all models and series of “Make It Mini Food,” and “Make it Mini Lifestyle.” These products contain a resin product that may imitate food items, like a mini peanut butter jar or milk container.

How to file a claim…

• Head to the claim website.
• Fill out the straightforward form and select any products that you own.
• Choose whether you’d like a replacement or a refund.
• Upload a picture of any opened product.
• Within 2 weeks you’ll receive a Federal Express shipping label.
• Use the label to ship your Miniverse product back to the manufacturer.
• Within 4 weeks you’ll receive a replacement or a full refund.

Why was there a MGA’s Miniverse recall?

It seems that unused liquid resins pose a risk of skin, eye, and respiratory skin irritation or sensitization. This can happen when inhaled, touched, or ingested by kids or adults. The uncured resins contain amounts of acrylates that are prohibited in children’s products by the Federal Hazardous Substances Act.

So far there are 26 reports related to this recall, including injuries like skin burns, irritation, and triggered asthma. The company recommends to stop using any products with unused resin.
