Another good tip for dog/cat foods: make sure you are on the lookout at Petco, Petsmart, and other pet supply stores. Often times they will mark down bags of dog food if they are expiring soon, which can be up to the next 3-6 months in some cases. I was looking for such a deal at my local Petco recently on this Nature’s Recipe food, and when an associate asked if they could help, I told him I was looking for the discounted bags. He said there were none marked down at the moment but was nice enough to look through several, found the oldest and marked it down 30% – which he said was greater than the store discount! Unfortunately I didn’t have a coupon to combine with the discount at the time, which would have made for an even greater deal on dog food that is normally rather expensive!
