(Thanks, Shannyn!)
I’ve been wanting a Kitchenaid mixer but am really leaning towards the 5 cup artisan instead. Kohls shows there’s a rebate available for this one as well. Is this an equally good deal in your opinion?
I think technically this would be a better deal (since it’s more expensive to begin with) but I know the artisan has better reviews on Amazon (the reviews for this one aren’t bad, just not quite as good). I got the artisan last year for Christmas and LOVE it. Honestly, I’m sure either one would be fine for general kitchen cooking. I think I did read somewhere that the attachments (the beater and the dough hook) on this one aren’t dishwasher safe if that makes a difference to you. I don’t think the whisk on this one or the artisan is dishwasher safe.
I have the artisan too..I love it. I looked at this model but still prefer the artisan. Kohls runs it on sale often. If you have a kohls card you almost always get 30% off the sale price and free shipping (except for the 7.50 surcharge on this). The artisan had a $30 rebate so this is a little better deal ($20 more than the overall price I paid for the artisan this summer) but the artisan was my fav. I got it in pink so Kitchen Aid made a donation to breast cancer research. Red was my favorite color, but being a breast cancer survivor I felt it important to go with the pink.
May I add my 2 cents?
I was one of the fortunate ones that got in on last yrs Kohl’s deal during the wk of Thanksgiving. I got the Artisan in a muted orange. I LOVE my KA. This is my 2nd one. It is a fabulous machine and probably my favorite tool in the kitchen. Imo, it doens’t matter which one you get-buy the one that fits your family budget.
You’re buying quality and reliability. That’s Kitchenaid.
I’m clearly not very domesticated, so what does one do with one of these things? I have a hand mixer and rarely use that, but I’m getting married soon and hope to be more “wife-like”. People are always raving about this thing, but what do you guys and gals use this for? TIA!
its a gorgeous piece of machinery….even if you dont use it u can display it in your kitchen..at least give the impression of being domisticated;)
Anything that is baked can be mixed in a KA. Anything that is kneaded as in bread or pizza dough it makes quick and easy. Many are using it to shred cooked chicken. Whipping cream or egg whites is a snap. I have mixed large batches of meatloaf to portion out for the freezer, likewise meatballs. There are many attatchments that can do just about any job from grinding meat to shredding potatoes for hashbrowns to making pasta. It is a machine you can ‘grow’ into!
Mary – If you’re planning on having kids this tool will be a lifesaver. Countless bake sales, school birthdays and family holidays. Ask friends to write down their fav. homemade recipes and collect them at your engagement party or wedding. Home cooking is the way to go for a healthier lifestyle not to mention a great way to a mans heart. Do you know what his favorite recipes are? Start collecting those too and pass down another generation of great cooking! Good luck and best wishes!
I have a red artisan, and I use mine at least once a month. I make cupcakes, cookies, brownies, candies, breads, sauces for meals, I even use mine to shred chicken for recipes. My son and I have celiac disease, so we make a lot from scratch – the mixer is a lifesaver! It also has available attachments to get really “from scratch” if you’re into that – you can grind meat with one!
Mary Mary Mary… More “wife like”? I think you just set us back like 50 plus years. :(.
Too funny!
Is this available to international buyers as well or just within the US?
Good point Liz! I’m in the same boat! LOL
Umm… I just FINALLY order one of these and the way my deal with my Kohl’s charge worked out like this:

So actually better than Collin’s numbers! Sorry Collin 😉
How did you get that sale price? Mine shows $449?
per Collin’s directions above
“Take 30% off when you enter code STYLE30 (will deduct $135)
nevermind… I’m not sure what John did!
John bought
KitchenAid Artisan 5-qt. Stand Mixer
sale $349.99
regular $449.99
Looks like he got the five-quart artisan. Collin’s numbers are for the Professional.
You don’t get the Kohl’s cash for the model you purchased (the artisan 5-qt). Also, the $50 rebate for the artisan model is actually good for either a glass bowl or a meat grinder, which they’ll send to you after you send in the rebate.
And I have to apologize b/c I was wrong, you do get $40 Kohl’s cash for the artisan model, my mistake! However, what I wrote about the rebate is correct. Still, I’m very excited to get a glass bowl with the rebate for the artisan. 🙂
Hey Collin, if you have a Kohl’s charge card, you can also use LUV2BMVC for free shipping. 🙂
How soon can Kohl’s cash be used?
Kohls Cash will be available to use Sept.20th-Sept.29th.
It has to be used from Sept 20 – 29.
The site is currently unavailable. But will try.
I was able to get a great deal on a regular tangerine one at Target as they are on clearance for $150 (50% off). Plus got 5% off that with my Target Check Card.
Brianna – That’s a GREAT price! Good Job!!
Omg! Thats my color too!
Can this deal be done in store???
You can if you have actual 30% off coupon (for Kohl’s credit card holders) or 20% off coupon (for any other payments). As I understand, the discount on coupons for Khol’s credit card holders varies between 10% – 30% off. When I had Khol’s credit card LONG time ago, I only have gotten 10% or 20% off but have never received 30% off coupons.
Besides, if you buy online, you will get cash back from your favorite cash back site. But of course, you don’t have to pay for S/H (and $7.50 charge).
Can you receive the $50.00 rebate if you purchase the artisan?
No. There is a different Rebate right now for the Artisan. You can find that one here https://www.kohlscorporation.com/rebates/9.15KitchenAidGWPArtisan.pdf. This is for a glass bowl or food grinder attachment. I know some people are stating there is a $30.00 Rebate but that expired 9/1:(
I went to order one, and it says they are no longer available… :/ This was after I went to the website ad it was down.
i went to the store and showed the cashier the code from hip2save and the manager honored it. Not able to get the ebates cash back, but after the surcharge it wasnt worth it to me.
I just check and it is available
I went into the store and they honored everything…I got this $550 mixer for right at $200. I am SUPER excited!!!
It says online if you open a kohl’s charge account that you get 15% off your next order. Can this combine with the deal to get it even cheaper?
I’m on the fence about buying because I’d rather not open an account.
Also dont forget to my consider the drop in your credit score.
Yes! But also look around for other great deals too. It’s a one time offer.
Thanks for posting this. I always wanted to own one of these and finally got one. I see the attachments are not dishwasher safe but other than that – it looks good.
I don’t know how to get the 4% cash back when I go to that website. When I try to put codes in with the codes that you gave it says it won’t work. It also adds $20 or $30 for tax, so what you said you pay is not really the amount that you pay right? I’m sorry I am really confused because I can’t get the numbers to match up to yours.
You shouldn’t have to add the shopathome codes, they should be applied automatically, as long as you clicked through the 4% link on the shopathome webpage. HTH!
I’ve had a regular old bone colored Kitchenaid for 25 years and cannot kill it, and I use it a few times a week. I’m in the process of building a new house and don’t want that thing on my countertop. I did this deal last night, except I went to Kohl’s.

Thanks for the idea to get me looking around to try to save more!
The rebate isn’t 50.00 though, for the artisan it is for a glass bowl or a meat grinder attachment.
No Lindsey, if you look at the original post by Collin, there is even a link for the $50. rebate. I bought the Professional Series 600 6-qt mixer regularly priced at $550. The Artisan series is a smaller mixer and less expensive.
Will kohl’s price match amazon? They have it for $357
Kohl’s is a crap shoot. You can always try it, all they can say is no. They definitely match brick and mortar stores, sometimes on line prices. Depends who the manager happens to be when you walk in.
Can someone explain to me how the cash back for shopAtHome works?? Is this something you do when you check out or after you make the purchase??
