Frozen cocktails are perfect for entertaining during warmer weather months, and here’s how to create a refreshing wine smoothie.

Love wine? Let’s add frozen fruit to it.🍷

Beat the heat this summer with a refreshing wine smoothie drink! Perfect to sip on while sitting poolside, just pair your favorite bottle of wine and choice of frozen fruit for an easy and chill adult drink! The other day I noticed I had a few open bags of frozen fruit that needed to be used up and here’s an excellent way to do that. I enjoyed a frozen strawberry, mango, and pineapple combo for tropical vibes.

Frozen wine drinks are super popular at bars and restaurants right now!

They also happen to be super easy to blend up at home. This is such a great idea for entertaining a group of friends. The result is an adult slushie style frozen cocktail that all will enjoy. I love how versatile this idea is as you can pick the type of wine and fruit you’d prefer.

My advice is to start with a bottle of wine that is nice and chilled so the result will be nice and cold with frozen fruit!

What wine/fruit pairings make delicious alcoholic smoothies?

  • Opt for a sparkling wine like Prosecco to create more of a wine spritzer drink for a fun variation. I think blending frozen peaches and Prosecco sounds amazing and similar to a Peach Bellini.
  • Picking a rose wine like I did here will yield a tasty “Frose” smoothie! The wine I am using has citrus nodes and pear. Yum!
  • A sweet dessert wine like Moscato will pair great with frozen fruit! Try that as a base with frozen pineapple and whipped cream for a Dole Whip theme!
  • If you enjoy red wine try a Cabernet Sauvignon with frozen raspberries or blackberries and cherries.

Blending frozen fruit with wine is GENIUS!

These are so delicious and remind me of a frozen sangria! I personally love the idea of a wine based cocktail for day drinking rather than hard liquor as usually, it will yield less alcohol content. Plus, this could be a money-saving option if you opt for a less expensive wine.

I love that you can easily adapt to your taste and don’t even need an exact recipe. Treat yourself to a pitcher of frozen wine to enjoy! Cheers!

I’m not the only fan of frozen wine drinks! Check out what our team had to say:

“Don’t forget you can “swirl” together different flavors if you’re feeling indecisive (reminds me of customizing my Icees at the movie theatre) or add your favorite salt/seasoning to the rim to “dress it up” really easily! (Tajin is my fav)!
I love a frozen white wine mixed w/ blackberries or raspberries, or adding strawberries into a red wine that may be a bit too tart to drink by itself.” – Hip2Save team member, Madison

“Yes, frozen wine drinks are so popular here in TX and I’m all for it. I prefer them over mimosas any day. Sangria swirls are so popular right now in restaurants. It’s a frozen margarita with frozen sangria mixed in, yum.” – Hip2Save team member,  Monica
