So silly question here. Do I️ need to be a Verizon customer to have the Verizon app?

    • Jen

      Yes.

    • Jackie

Yes. You get a reward pretty much everytime you pay your bill.
I redeemed for my starbucks card maybe 2 days ago – the amazon one was not offered to me

  2. Cathy

Darn, I wish I had the Amazon one. I have Starbucks and Pier 1.

  3. Donna

Thank you Colin! Not only did I have the $5 Starbucks card offer, but I had an old $5 Sephora gift card that I had completely forgotten about!! You rock! 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Woohoo! You’re SO welcome Donna! Thanks for the sweet comment! 😉

  4. MissesK

Is this only for cell service or for internet too?

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

It appears to be available for Verizon Wireless customers only. Hope that helps!

  5. Sam

So it says that Verizon up takes your info and advertising across your devices. Does anyone know how safe joining this is? I worry about my privacy and was just curious on current users thoughts

    • Mary

Yes I was wandering the same thing, so I have not yet joined. Not sure if it is worth it.

    • Laura

I’m not joining – why do I want someone to track my info across my devises? For $5? no thanks

    • Sara

You can opt out of Verizon Selects and other privacy concerns after signing up for Verizon Up. You will still be able to earn credits after doing so.

      In the My Verizon app:
      1)Accounts
      2)Account Settings
      3)Privacy
      4)Select a line.
      5)Change your privacy preferences.
6)Repeat steps 4 and 5 for all lines.

This month I had $5 to AMC, I was pretty disappointed. I redeemed for a $10 off an Uber ride this month instead of a gift card, since I had to use a credit.

  7. chrissie

It keeps saying I don’t have a valid number

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Darn! Maybe wait a moment and check back again.

    • Michelle W

I get the same thing for my number. We have five phones on our plan and there is only one reward per account. The reward is under my husbands number since he is the official account holder.

  8. Heather

Yay I got a Starbucks gc!!!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      Awesome! Enjoy!

  9. Diana

If anyone wants to trade their Starbucks gift card for Amazon gift card, let me know. Dianasausley@gmail.com

  10. Erika

Darn! I already redeemed for $5 device dollars :/. I could use a coffee! Haha!

    • Thinn

Hi, I have $5 device dollars, what can I do with it? TIA

      • Holly

When you get ready to buy a new phone you can take $5 off. Doesn’t seem like a very good deal when the phones are $1,000

  11. moria

I’ll have to tell my mom about this. She has Verizon and I don’t.

  12. Dee

I also had a $10 to spend on Marvel comics. So excited to get those for my son

  13. MissesK

Thanks Amber! No rewards for me then 😂😂

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      Bummer! YW!

  14. Mal

  18. Elizabeth

Hi – if anyone isn’t going to use their Starbucks gift card, I would really ENJOY it as a little treat for this FTM! 🙂 My email is rupp.elizabeth@yahoo.com.

    Thank you in advance!

  19. SM

I got the 1gb of data & $5 Starbucks. Thanks I always forget about this.

  20. rmk91

  23. candcp

Don’t you have to join up for Verizon Selects in order to Join up for Verizon Up? That’s what I’m getting from it. TIA?

    • Sara

You can opt out of Verizon Selects and other privacy concerns after signing up for Verizon Up. You will still be able to earn credits after doing so.

      In the My Verizon app:
      1)Accounts

      4)Select a line.
      5)Change your privacy preferences.
6)Repeat steps 4 and 5 for all lines.

    • Maggie

Don’t bet on the opt out counting. Last time I read the fine print (when they rolled out the program), joining and staying in the the rewards program constituted ongoing consent to the tracking — regardless whether you opted out of Selects or not. It’s possible that you’re still and being tracked despite opting out, if it’s still written that way.

  24. Sara

I didn’t get any gift cards this month. In addition to the SuperTickets, my options are:
    1)$15 off $35 at 1-800-Flowers.com
    2)1 GB of bonus data
3)Pick 1 of 10 hit movies from Vudu
    4)$5 Device Dollars
5)50% off one ride from Uber
6)an online course from Shaw Academy

I used the intro credit and my first earned credit on a free GB of data since I was going on a vacation during those times. I don’t have or need unlimited data.

You have 60 days from when you earn a credit to use it. I only get $92 a month toward a credit, so it takes 3 – 4 months for me to earn one credit. I won’t waste it on a coupon. I think I will wait.

  25. Sara

According to the app, my line is not participating in Verizon Selects and my mom’s line is blocked from participating. Data collected before opting out is mostly fair game. I reset the data immediately before opting out. I don’t know if that reset did any good. I disallowed sharing of Customer Proprietary Network Info, use of information for business and marketing insights, and use of information for relevant mobile advertising. I also disabled location services on my phone and in the app so the store won’t know when I am there or bombard me with offers. I think I have done about all I can to protect my privacy and still participate in Verizon Up.

  26. Casey

I have a $5 Sephora gift card on there, but I didn’t claim it since I don’t shop there. In the past I’ve been able to redeem for Starbucks and Panera Bread!

  27. shweta

i m looking books for my 5 yrars old son.

  28. Jess

I scored a $5 gift card to Barnes and Noble!! Thank you!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      Woohoo! You’re welcome Jess!

  29. Gatiger81

I would love to get a $5 Amzon card each month instead of the others.
