Are these the same type of thing you take when you are getting symptoms of a uti, or is this something you take to prevent one?
My doctor told me that these just take away the symptoms you will still have a UTI so he strongly urged not to take them. He said you wouldn’t know you had a UTI which would cause further damage to your kidneys.
This is just a much higher dose of the regular cranberry pills made by this brand (25000 mg vs 500). If you have a UTI though, then it’s probably best to take antibiotics and drink 100% unsweetened cranberry juice sold at health food stores (tastes horrid but helps a lot). I don’t think that these are going to cure an infection.
I usually take Nature’s Bounty Triple Strength Cranberry Tablets 25,200. I buy them BOGO for $15.29. I have been taken them for years and have never had a UTI once. Before taking them I had several UTIs. Although, I haven’t used this product, I have used other AZO products. They work very well for me.
I had an S&S option for Amazon.
Does anyone know if the AZO cranberry soft gel pills or gummies help prevent UTIs? I have been using another brand of cranberry pills for about a year now and have had 2 UTIs while I was taking them. I was just wondering what some people’s experiences have been taking the AZO brand cranberry pills or gummies has been.
Honestly, I can’t tell you for sure. Some women are prone to UTIs more than others. I’ve personally never had a UTI. I’ve been taking these as preventative 1-3 days before I start my menstrual cycle and the first 2 days during my menstrual cycle. The reason I do this is because when I pre-cramp and then cramp really bad during my first day, I don’t drink much water. Since I’m no longer flushing my urinary tract like normal days, I rely on the cranberry pills to prevent any bacteria from adhering to the walls.
Like others have said, if you already have an existing UTI, this won’t take care of it.
I have taken another brand (Cran Rx). Had a problem with recurring UTIs after birth of child. They do not cure a current UTI, but I did find that they seemed to decrease recurrence of the infection.
FYI, d mannose is amazing for UTI’s. If I feel one coming on I take this and it’s gone almost immediately. Check it out on Amazon!
D mannose works well for me too! I can’t take antibiotics, so d mannose is a blessing!
Some other things that might help those women that are prone to recurrent UTI’s: wiping from front to back only after using the bathroom and peeing after sex. This all might be obvious to some, but others might not know these things. Hope that helps.
Great comments. I have been prone to them my whole life, even pre adult. Both of these are very helpful.
