What is the difference in these and a pressure cooker that’s not a Instant Pot? I bought a pressure cooker, looks very similar, but I’m not sure how to use it and haven’t, now wondering if I should have got this instead. Is there a difference?

The IP is a pressure cooker, rice cooker, and slow cooker in one. You can also make yogurt in it. It has a stainless steel insert, whereas most electric pressure cookers have a nonstick insert. Hope that helps

    • Joe

All of the pressure cookers are similar in nature, the buttons in front are just pre-programmed buttons like on your microwave. So if you see a recipe for instant pot you can use your brand machine as well.

Thanks! Would you recommend ditching the electric pressure cooker and going this route?

I have two of the Power Pressure XL cookers and now have two of the Instant Pots. I never use the Power Pressure XL’s……the stainless insert and yogurt function is amazing.

Sell it…then go buy an IP 🙂

No holly you can do the same. I have both. Just read the book add 1 cup a liquid. . pro pressure can be slow cooker.steamer.canner.pressure cooker.

I received the Kohl’s mailer with the $5 coupon to use in store. An item I want is only available online. Is there a way to use the coupon on the item I want?

    • Stephanie

I’ve had great luck having a worker “help” me order at a kiosk and then they manually input a coupon that I have for an item only available online so I would check that! I just go back to customer service and then they send someone over to the kiosk

I was considering one of these but they were just on the news being recalled for over heating. So….. playpass

    • Ashley

The item being recalled was actually a crockpot with the Instant Pot as the brand. It was not one of these 7 in 1 things. Just letting you know- I had to reassure my mom. 🙂 love my instant pot!

    • 50ShadesofLipstick

FYI that was the Instant Pot multi-cooker, NOT their pressure cooker. Two totally different products!

Lies I just bought one today from instant pot for $52.80

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Hi there! I am not able to find it on their site at that price. Sounds like you got a great deal! 🙂

      • JB

        The $52.80 one is a 3 quart mini, I believe. That’s what I found when I searched.

All the deals in the insta pot made me finally cave for Christmas and get one…totally regretted it! I did not like the texture it made the food-granted it made my rice perfect but I couldn’t justify keeping it for rice. I’m a pretty good cook and just wasn’t impressed with it. So for those on the fence I would suggest seeing if a friend or relative has one you can borrow before forking over the money.

Love this! I have the duo mini and my only issue is if I want a large batch of soup etc. to freeze. Not quite large enough for a family of 4. Especially if you want leftovers. Perfect for small batch soup, sides, yogurt, rice. Larger meals go with the bigger model. My mother makes cheesecake in the larger IP and it is a PERFECT Cheesecake! I will be buying the larger. Perfect for camping with electric outlet.
