Are they pretty much the same price (brand new) everywhere? I see them at Costco and wondering if it’s cheaper there than let’s say Walmart.

    • Emily

They’re pretty close to the same price everywhere. Where I live, they’re about $50 for a new tank without an exchange and about $20 with an empty tank to exchange. Sometimes stores will have a sale. Walmart will usually have a really nice one in the spring and you’ll get a gift card with purchase or exchange. That’s a great sale to pair with coupons and a rebate if you need to buy a second/third/etc. tank or if you need to exchange an empty one. I found an old hip2save post about that sale, so hopefully that’ll help you figure out timing and or pricing that may be available in the coming weeks. https://hip2save-com-develop.go-vip.co/2014/03/23/walmart-blue-rhino-propane-tank-as-low-as-5-92-after-coupon-gift-card-offer/

Walmart is the cheapest regular price for us – usually around $15 for an exchange.

    Perfect timing

Is this the brand they carry at wal mart?

    • llc

Yes, BUT all my walmart stores in Houston, TX have converted to a outdoor self serve kiosk like they have at Sams Club. Lowes also carries Blue Rhino but these coupons don’t scan and its a pain for them to do a competitor match to lower the price. That leaves Kroger for me. The coupons scan and they usually have plenty in stock. (I buy a ton of these for my father. There is a heater attachment he has and uses them in his shop along with a wood burning stove.)

where is the coupon good at? I always seem to pick it up at a gas station.

  6. Candace

If you are gold status you can get 20% off at Rite Aid. This is great timing Our tank was just stolen (again) last week.

Limit of 2 identical coupons means I can purchase two tanks, or two coupons work for one?

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

That means you can purchase two tanks and use two coupons. One for each tank. Hope that helps!

Can’t get mail in rebate to print any suggestions?

    • Emily

If you’re having trouble printing the pdf, but it opens on your computer, you can take a screenshot of the form and paste it into word and try printing it from there. To take a screenshot, hit the PRTSC button on your keyboard. It stands for print screen. It copies everything on the screen to your clipboard and you can go into word and paste it in like you would anything else that you copied. If you don’t know how to do that, hit CTRL and V at the same time. It is the keyboard shortcut for paste. If the PRTSC button doesn’t work alone, you may need ot hit CTRL and PRTSC at the same time. Once it is in word, you can crop it to be just the form (so you don’t waste ink,) resize it if you want to make the form a little bigger and easier to write in, and then just print as usual.

Both Blue Rhino and American Gas only fill their propane tanks to 75% of capacity. You are paying for the convenience. If you live near a U-Haul that refills propane tanks or any other propane refilling station, you are better off going to these places to refill your tanks as they will fill them to 100% of capacity, thus limiting your trips for refills. Although I used my propane tanks regularly, I learned propane tanks are certified to be used only for 12 years. This is based on the manufacturing date stamped on the tank. I recently tried refilling one of my tanks and the U-Haul employee refused to refill the tank. I get it, its a safety issue. The tanks can be re-certified for another 5 years, but I am sure its better and cheater to just switch out your old tank for a new tank from Blue Rhino or American Gas than buying a new one.

I also cannot get the rebate form to print. I have a MackBook Pro so if anyone has an answer that would be great! Thank you! (Message keeps popping up to enter a password.)

        Thanks so much!

Is this coupon still available? When I click coupons.com it is not showing up.

I have to agree with TW L Blue Rhino needs to do much better for thier customers, or they are going to lose a lot of business. I kept wondering why my BBQ grill & FIRE PIT would run out of propane so fast, so I infested in two propane gaguges. Then I took my empty tanks to LOWES to be exchanged. When the salesperson gave me the new tanks, I checked both tanks with the gaguge and both tanks were only 3/4 full. Then we checked a few more. I guess I don` need to tell you, I got my empty tanks back and went to a place to have them filled compleatly. 100%
