Walmart Reveals 2018 Top-Rated Kids Toys List
Have you heard the news?
ToysRUs may be out of business, but Walmart is upping their toys game with big Black Friday changes throughout their store for 2018.
In a recent press release, Walmart announced they’re expanding their “America’s Best Toy Shop” aisles in select stores to offer new and exclusive items from top brands and the broadest assortment of toys ever to ensure they have all of the toys that kids want!
In fact, they’ll be adding 30% more new toys in Walmart stores and 40% more toys online, with online exclusives like the DC Comics 6-Volt Justice League Batmobile and KidKraft Uptown Espresso Kitchen.
Plus, they’ll be hosting in-store events & demos!
Walmart will host more than 2,000 toy play dates over the next two months at Supercenters across the country so that kids can play with top toys as they start to build their holiday wish lists. Here’s a look at the events happening in America’s Best Toy Shop, now through November 1st:
- America’s Best Toy Shop will host its first National Play Day on September 8th in more than 1,500 stores. Kids will enjoy the opportunity to play with top toys, pose for pictures, and take home toy booklets and other giveaways.
- In-store toy demos, including events highlighting toys from Ryan’s World, Barbie and Transformers, will take place from August 30th to November 1st.
- Toy roadshows for Nerf and Hot Wheels will give kids the chance to play with the newest toys from these two classic brands with interactive activities at Supercenters from August 31st to November 1st.

You’re welcome! 🙂
Is it me or do toys get more expensive every year? ONE: Hot Wheels toy – $94; Paw Patrol truck – $60; Imaginext – $99; Ryan’s World Mystery Egg – $80, etc. That is insane. I don’t know how parents of multiple children (I have 2) or single parents or low-income parents do it. And if you can afford it, or you save throughout the year, or you find incredible deals – that’s amazing and I applaud you. But prices shouldn’t be this high to begin with. There’s no reason why a Claw Machine Playset made of super cheap China plastic that will most likely break by New Year’s should cost $50!!!
Totally agree, I cant believe when even the average toy price is $50! We have 3 kids and even with deal hunting and limiting to minimal number of gifts we still have to budget around $100/kid. And that’s just for our 3 kids!!
I realize this isn’t Walmart-related, but if you have an Ollie’s Bargain Outlet store by where you live, their recent sales circular states that they’ve bought almost $200 million dollars of toys from Toys ‘R Us and are selling them for up to 75% off their normal retail price. Example: Barbie 17″ Princess Doll $15.99, Barbie Princess Castle $7.99, T-Rex Battle Zord $19.99, etc.
(Ollie’s is a retailer that buys and then resells closeout merchandise & excess inventory. If you want to see if there’s one by where you live, you can check at: https://www.ollies.us/locations/)
Thanks for the heads up on the toy liquidation DianeNC!
