ALDI adds online grocery shopping delivery service – cart filled with groceries

Skip the store – shop online!

Get ready! ALDI recently announced that they’ve partnered with Instacart to bring online grocery delivery to their stores across the country. In fact, the national rollout will cover 75 major markets, and the service will be available across 35 states in 5,000 new zip codes by Thanksgiving! 🦃

This means ALDI customers will be able to order to fresh groceries, including organic produce and antibiotic-free meat, with Instacart in as little as one hour. To celebrate the rollout, ALDI is giving new Instacart customers $10 off their first three ALDI orders of $35 or more with the code ALDILOVE.

They’ll also be launching a test for curbside pickup in early November – just in time for Thanksgiving meal shopping! Curbside pickup will allow ALDI shoppers to buy groceries online and then pick them up at stores, where employees will load the bagged items into their cars. Love it! 😍

Wow, ALDI curbside pick up would be such a dream come true for me. I love their products and prices but it’s not the easiest shopping experience with 3 little ones.

    • Jenn

Yes, totally would do curbside. 3 little ones under 5yrs including a newborn. Would be a blessing!

    • Sandi Damron

Curbside pickup at Aldi is a dream come true! I’m due with my 3rd child this spring and I was just thinking the other day about how I would make my weekly grocery trip with 3 kids in tow. This is the answer! My husband is laughing at how excited I am right now!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Congratulations! SO glad this will be available for you now when you will need it most!

I’ve heard so many people say they don’t go to Aldi because of the bags/quarter in the cart issues (weaklings!) so this will boost their sales.

    • Dkp91576

The people stalking shoppers outside my Aldi begging for carts so that I lose my quarter, drives me bananas. I just go in with my Shopper totes, fill them up and go straight to the cashier. She has a cart ready for people who go around with no cart.

      • melaniethehomebody

Wild. I’ve never seen that. I did have a woman hand me a bunch of nickels once, but it was correct.

      • Jodi P

Young kids did that at the Aldi’s I shopped at in Pittsburgh. I didn’t mind at all. It was in a very poor neighborhood, and I’m sure at least some of the kids were trying to get money to buy milk or other necessary food. And if they bought cookies or candy, instead….I grew up poor and would have done the same thing, lol.

Where I live now, kids don’t do that……but I leave my quarter in the cart for the next person, anyway.

        • AZ

Agreed. I guess some folks just can’t imagine what it’s like to struggle, so they make snarky comments to feel better about themselves.

Instacart is Free for a week and then 149$ for a year subscription? That’s a lot to do curbside pick up

    • Connie

Instacart is a subscription delivery service. Curbside pick up is entirely different and likely will not cost anything.

      • Rebecca

Instacart does curbside pickup at our Dillon’s. It’s $5 for them to bring them out to your car. Right down the road I can get free curbside at Walmart. So I will go for the free one instead, or just go in to Dillon’s. Not worth that.

  14. Cassandane

I would definite love the curbside pickup over home delivery as Aldi is on my way. As with other grocery stores, it all depends on the fee & overall cost. Shipt & others sound like a good deal, but there are higher prices per item & no digital coupons ((cough Meijer cough)). I’ve been happy w Kroger Clicklist so far.

  15. Em

How do we know which stores will do the curbside pickup? I didn’t see a list of participating stores on their website.

  16. Gscribble

That’s great! (Also, all of the meat sold in the US is antibiotic free)

  17. Stacy

OMG!!!!! I’m in ALDI Heaven hearing this!!!! Yyyeesss!!!

  18. Jodi P

My town is small so it’s unlikely to have Instacart…………but the curbside pickup would be fantastic! I heard our local walmart will do that next year. I have a disability that can make getting groceries difficult, especially in winter. I could have my sisters pick up my groceries when I can’t do it, myself.

  19. Connie

While Inwas initially very excited to see Aldi starting delivery, I was a little bummed that it was through Instacart. I used them briefly and it wasn’t a great experience. Shipt is a million times better so I’ll keep my fingers crossed that they expend to Shipt as well!

  20. Susan Crawford

I have an Aldis that is 5 minutes from my house. So I just keep a quarter in my cup holder and the reusable bags are always in the back of the car. But my cat does like when I bring home a new box for her to lay in. This is good idea.

  21. Pansy

My mid sized town is actually included! I’m still a little confused about how it works,? It showed about 5 stores in my area, like Costco, but no Aldi. I would want delivery, since I don’t have a car right now.

  22. Elizabeth

I have several times been excited when I saw “Costco is adding delivery” or “Aldi’s is adding delivery,” when what had really happened was that instacart had expanded. Every time I have looked at instacart, they were charging more for each grocery item And charging for delivery.

  23. Heather

Must have just been a local partnership, because I’ve been getting Aldi delivered via Instacart for nearly a year. 🤔

  24. angela

Instacart are crooks, they took 149 dollars out of my account, a fee for using their service, read the small print of what they charge, on top of the higher cost of groceries.

  25. Maria

I use instacart. The 149 is after a 2 week free trial of instacart Express which gets you free delivery. If you use basic instacart Each delivery is 5.99. Sometimes there are promotions when a certain dollar amount is reached by the products in a category for free delivery.

  26. Jill

Did this before new year and it was AMAZING. Instacart doesn’t deliver to my home address because it’s rural so I asked them to deliver it to my work address and had no problem. Seriously considering the Instacart Express in 2019!!
