Ham Products Recalled Due to Deadly Listeria Outbreak

ANOTHER recall?! 😳

According to the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, Johnston County Hams has recalled over 89,000 pounds of ready-to-eat ham products as they may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes.

The ready-to-eat deli-loaf ham items were produced from April 3rd, 2017, to October 2nd, 2018, and were shipped to distributors in Maryland, North Carolina, New York, South Carolina, and Virginia.

  • Varying weights of 7 to 8-lbs. plastic-wrapped “Johnston County Hams, Inc. Country Style Fully Cooked Boneless Deli Ham.”
  • Varying weights of 7 to 8-lbs. plastic-wrapped “Ole Fashioned Sugar Cured The Old Dominion Brand Hams Premium Fully Cooked Country Ham” with Sell-By dates from 4/10/2018 to 9/27/2019.

The FSIS is concerned that some people may still have the contaminated ham in their freezers and urges consumers who’ve purchased these products not to eat them. Instead, if you have any ham products that are part of the recall, you should throw them out or return them for a refund.

Hi there! You could always call in to your store before heading in, to check with customer service. They may already know about the recall and allow you to return your ham. Hope that helps!
