TWELVE food manufacturers have recalled millions of pounds of ready-to-eat salads and pre-made foods due to the possible contamination. More specifically, salads, chicken wraps, meat products, and more could be tainted from Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes.

These food manufacturers notified the USDA about products they had shipped which could include contaminated ingredients like corn, onions, and other vegetables – all provided from McCain Foods. Wow all these recalls are getting out of hand. No joke. Now we end up paying more in the long run for the cost of recall. Better procedures should be in place it seems. Not fair to the people who had to eat the stuff in order for an issue to be noticed

Not to mention the poor animals killed for nothing

    • coulter

Yes not to mention the animals. Its all a disgrace

The waste due to carelessness is incredibly sad… especially all the animals that died needlessly. 🙁

We rarely buy ready to eat foods for this very reason. I won’t even buy bagged salads anymore. Too much risk.

    • Jennifer

Yep, same for me now…my husband and I have had very ..um ..”unpredictable” diarrhea for the past 2weeks because we had been eating the prepackaged salads for lunch at least 3 days a week for about a month. I feel certain we got sick from the salads. I feel like I will never return to my normal 💩 routine.

I wonder how much more this is actually happening vs we are just figuring out what is causing the outbreaks because of legislation over the last decade helping trace foodbourn pathogens…

How do I get my refund check

I just don’t understand with all the recalls they say “throw it away”. NO! Take it back and get your money. Let them feel the loss instead of you being out the money.
    Their carelessness not yours.

Honestly, I feel like this is all due to making short cuts, going around the system, knowingly selling off contaminated products and hoping for the best. I also, feel like the over use of antibiotics which created super viruses and lower immune systems have caused the spread of a lot of germs. People going to work sick and preparing and handling your food. Anywhere from the grocery store to the restaurants. All of these can be spread by not properly handling food. Sam’s club has gotten so bad. Their freezers where going out and thawing food out, kicking back on and refreezing. I kept getting refrozen chicken. I didn’t realize why it was happening until the entire freezer section went out while I was shopping. I finally filed a complaint and they completely blew me off.
