Can you buy a $50 save the 10% and the 20% and get it for $35? and does the 5% using the target red card work?

    • Laura

I have the same question. My 20% off coupon says it excludes gift cards

      • Jessica

Any type of coupon always excludes gift cards.

  2. Evaa

Only the biggest problem with Target Gift Card, if you buy the stuff with Target Gift Card and get the Gift Receipt with the product. Once you return a item with Gift Receipt they are ONLY giving back as Instore Merch Card, which ONLY & ONLY works in store.

    • KS

I usually get a regular receipt with my purchase, even if I used a gift card to pay. You should still be able to get a regular receipt. Have you asked them about it?

      • Evaa

Thank you KS. I will ask for the regular receipt next time. But I will never plan to get a gift receipt, as I mentioned about the frustration.

I’m so sad I missed the 20% off coupon when I was sick over holiday-if anyone has an extra, I would be so grateful! Happy holidays. Miso_rad@hotmail.com

  4. dealgirl

Off topic but does anyone have a code or know of a promo for Amazon Prints holiday cards this year?

  5. Diana

I can’t wait!! Buying $10 gift cards for my daycare teachers!!

  6. Kimberly Woods

Can you use the Target Giftcards that you purchase to later buy Disney giftcards from Target?

    • Carleen R

I tried online right now, it said “ sorry you can not buy a gift card with another gift card”. Not sure if it would work in store.

    • Me

I think someone asked this last year and they said you could only do in in-store. You might want to call and ask first.

    • Katie

Last year we purchased about 1500 with multiple transactions, checked with management first to make sure, and went back the next day and got Disney cards. I’d check at your store first as it seems to be allowed in only some stores

    • Erin

I actually tried last week and the register would not allow me to use the target gift card to buy a Disney gift card. I even bought some soup with the transaction and the target card would only work for the balance on the soap and not the giftcard.

  7. Missie

Can you use a gift cards you already have to purchase a gift card on the discount day?

    • Mari

      According to target giftcard faqs:

Target GiftCards can’t be used to purchase the following:
American Express, Visa, or Mastercard gift cards or prepaid cards in store or from Target.com
Specialty gift cards in store or from Target.com, including gift cards for gaming, music and restaurants, such as Xbox and Olive Garden
      Target GiftCards from Target.com
(So maybe you can buy a Target giftcard instore for a Target giftcard)

  8. Angela

It’s just the 10% promo. You can’t use the 5% with the red card or the 20% coupon from Black Friday on this.

    • Nubianqueen

Thanks thanks and thanks drama for 10%

      • Lora

Right, you’re only saving a dollar off every ten you spend. Yes, it’s better than nothing just not that awesome of a deal.

  9. CW

Nope, you used to be able to. They ended that this summer, both Disney Gift Cards and regular restaurant gift cards. You used to be able to put the gift card on your Target app/wallet and it would work. Not any more. 🙁

  10. Fish

I’m confused. In the post, it says we can use the 20% off Black Friday coupon to buy the 10% off target gift card?? But the Black Friday coupon exclude gift card.

    • hellfiregainz

They mean if you are buying a $100 gift card for 10% off you are paying $90.

Then if you for example buy $100 worth of merchandise with your gift card and use your 20% coupon it’s like paying $70.

    • Mel

No, she’s saying to buy the GC with the 10% discount. THEN you can make a purchase, use the 20% coupon and PAY with the discounted GC. You get more bang for your buck.

    • Fish

Thank you for details. Now, I understand what that mean 🙂 thanks

  11. Shawna

Is this only for target gift cards or any gift card in target you get 10% off? Can I guy disney gift cards and get 10% off those?

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Hi there! The discount only applies to Target Gift Cards.

  12. Maria

Does the amount have to be on only one single gift card or can you split it into different gift cards as long as it’s not over the limit amount ??

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Great question! I just double checked with customer service and you can split it up and still earn the discount! Hope that helps!

  13. Marissa

Can we buy a target gift card with a gift card?

  14. Sabine

If I buy a gc and use it later as payment will I still get the 5% off for being a card holder? Example: my son wants the HP Lego set which is $100, so if I buy a $100 gc for $90 and then the next day use my gc to buy the set will I get 5% off my total?

    • Jane

Hi, your 5% discount will apply after the gift cards.

    • Christine

If you buy $100 of a target gift card and pay only $90 for it, you will not get an additional 5% off the next day because you wouldn’t be using your target red card to pay for the item. You would be using your gift card, so I would go a step further and NOT use the red card to buy the gift cards but a credit card that gives you the most cashback to stack the savings!

      • Christine

To clarify what I think Jane is saying, is if the item cost more than your gift card total, the 5% would apply to the remainder of the bill. If it cost $125 then after using your gift card to pay for it, you would get 5% off the $25 only.

  15. KellZoll

Maria, I bought ten $10 gift cards last year and got the discount.

  16. JJ

Does anyone know if I can combine the 20% from Black Friday with my 10% anniversary coupon in the same purchase? Will they take two coupons in one transaction? Thanks!

  17. Kim B

I hope this comes back for 2019!!!!
