    Has anyone stayed here before?

My Brother used to take his daughter when she was younger every yr. they loved it, from what i hear it is a lot for kids to do

I have stayed here. The grounds , aquariums and waterpark are lovely and I would recommend it if you are on a cruise and it’s an offered excursion. The beaches are public and there are dozens of locals trying to make a living selling coconuts, hats, hair braiding. I don’t begrudge them that but I can’t relax while politely declining something every few minutes. Once the sun goes down, there isn’t too much to do besides the casino so I don’t know if I’d recommend this resort to families or non gamblers.

      yes, it is amazing!

The resort is nice but the area around it is sketchy. We didn’t realize bow dangerous it was. And after going by the local hospital – yikes! Just be careful

I worked for years for carnival cruise lines and Bahamas, esp. Nassau ha always been known to be dangerous after hours. Otherwise, daytime the resort is really nice. Just don’t leave it when it gets dark.

We just got back from Atlantis a couple weeks ago – we went sans kids. It’s a beautiful resort with tons to do – very kid friendly. Just be aware that there is a $50+ room tax added on for each night, plus $20 for internet use each day (they automatically add that on, although if there are less than 4 devices in a room they will take it off if you ask.) Be sure to look over your bill as there were several over charges on ours – about $280 worth.

Also factor in that there is 15% gratuity added on to EVERY purchase, including the gift shop, purchasing pics, literally everything. There is also a 12% Value Added Tax added on to every purchase as well. It adds up quickly.

It’s a beautiful place, but overall just felt like a huge money trap. Also, bring tons of sunscreen – we brought 4 bottles and ran out. 2 more bottles at the gift shop cost $54. 😱

And if you want to have a beverage while you’re there, buy a bottle duty free at the airport and make your own drinks for the beach or to go out at night. Your room has cups. Two mixed drinks cost us $68. Again 😱😱😱

Whew! Sounds like the “perfect” money trap! With all those add on’s and extras, it doesn’t sound like a deal at all. :/ I’ve heard food & water is extremely expensive too. It’d be much nicer if they just put everything into one (big) price, so at least you can know your budget. Once you’re already there, you’re suckered. Doesn’t sound like a place I want to bother patronizing . :/

Oh wow! I will definitely not be going here! Many other places out there that are not this expensive! Thank you so much for the information because I would have been so upset seeing those charges and stuff.

I was just in a club med resort, super for kids, pay one price, excellent food plus not as commercial… Atlantis is nice but food is expensive and have your wallet out all the time !!!
