I bought one!
Yay!
I’ll be on the lookout!
I hope you find it, Kitty!
Has anyone tried this yet does it chop well? I purchase something like this previously and it didn’t cut things very well
It chops well but is a pain to clean. Food gets stuck in the cracks. I tossed mine because it was such a pain to clean.
I had the same experience 🙁
Thank you
Thank you so much.
They also have a spiralizer for $12.99. Works very well!
We will look for those! Thanks, sne3103!
We have one similar and love it for chopping onions. Will check out our store for a potential back up!
I wanted this and the spiralizer but our Aldi was out of both 😥
Darn! Sorry to hear that, Rose!
We bought the one like this that they had last year and hated it. We rarely take back ALDI merchandise, but this worked so poorly that we tried to return it. It didn’t chop our onions, just squished it and squeezed the juice out. The ALDI guarantee ONLY is for food, not products, so I had to donate it. I hope this model works better. Just our experience.
Oh bummer! Thanks so much for the honest comment, Jen! Sorry to hear it didn’t work well.
Thank you so much for telling me about the Aldi return policy!I would have wasted money. Thank you once again.
My Aldi takes back things besides food. I returned an electric blanket and shoes and several other items. I wonder if the return policy varies from store to store? Just a thought…
I am always tempted to get one of these but the fact that you still have to cut the vegetables in half just keeps me from buying. If I have the knife and cutting board out already I might as well keep going.
Yup–and so much easier to clean than any gadget!
I bought mine a few years ago and at first was unsure how to use it properly. I have finally figured it out and absolutely LOVE my Crofton food chopper! I use it mostly for dicing potatoes for hash browns, but this week tried using it to dice my strawberries for strawberry shortcake. I simply washed and removed the leafy calyx of my strawberries, and placed them into the dicer and diced them. If the strawberries were larger than usual, I’d cut in half and dice. This made dicing them for the shortcake go so much faster and cleaner than having to hand dice them. The same is true for potatoes for hash browns. The key to potatoes, onions, peppers and other foods that have skins is to put the skin side down first so they touch the cutting blades. This helps the food to cut more precisely and quickly. If you try cutting with the skin sides up, the foods generally don’t cut all the way thru, and that may be what frustrated some users who said they got rid of their chopper.
Personally, I am looking for them to come out again so that I can buy many for gifts for my kids and grandkids and friends. I love this wonderful tool that helps me in the kitchen!
