IKEA Recalls Thousands of Baby Bibs Due to Safety Concerns
IKEA is recalling about 7,000 MATVRÅ infant bibs due to concerns that their snaps could detach and become a choking hazard. The recalled bibs were sold exclusively at IKEA in-store and online from August 2019 through September 2019 for about $2 a pack.
Each pack of the recalled bibs contained a red bib with yellow polka-dot trim and a blue bib with green polka-dot trim and both bibs have MATVRÅ, IKEA, and the IKEA logo printed on a white tag on the back.
Note that the MATVRÅ bibs with the fruit/vegetable pattern in green and yellow are not included in this recall and are safe to continue to use, as they are of a different material and construction.
IKEA has received two reports of the snaps on the bibs detaching. Neither incident occurred in the United States and no injuries have been reported. If you own any of these recalled bibs, stop using them immediately and return them to any IKEA store for a full refund (proof of purchase is not required).
