Any genius kitchen gadget that’s multi-functional, doesn’t take up a lot of room, and it just downright handy to have is a total winner in my book! This IKEA colander is collapsible and stores flat, plus it can also pull double duty! Either open it all the way and use it as a strainer or collapse it halfway so you can steam some perfect veggies on the stove.

I have another brand that I won in a giveaway and have used for several years now. Only thing I found was my mini lentils (not the regular size) get stuck in the holes when rinsing/straining, and I have to pop them out! Super nice to store in a small apartment kitchen though. I’ve since bought a mesh stainless steel strainer basket for my instant pot, which strains those baby lentils nicely!
Keep an eye out at Target. I got the Oxo collander on clearance for around $10 about a month ago. I noticed some stores also carry another brand that comes in other shapes (rectangle) and sizes.

I use this exact one in my camper. It’s great for camping. It’s light weight and takes up practically no room. Best thing ever.
