Score PlayStation Plus FREE Games in April
We’re raving about the PlayStation Plus membership and how you can score free games!
Let’s dissect the perks of PlayStation Plus!🕹
If you have a PlayStation console, you’ve inevitably heard of PlayStation Plus. You may be wondering what it is, what the benefits are (*ahem* FREE games! 😱), and how much it costs.
Simply put, PlayStation Plus is a subscription offered for those with PlayStation 4 and 5 consoles, but there’s so much more to this membership than you could even begin to imagine. No need to worry because I’m going to break down every awesome benefit PSP has to offer.
Other game consoles have similar concepts, including Nintendo and Xbox, but, today, we’re focusing solely on PlayStation and how it’s an absolute MUST for gamers! 🎮
And now onto this month’s free PlayStation Plus games!
The BIGGEST reason by far to join this membership is that you’ll get at least two (sometimes THREE) PlayStation Plus FREE games to download every month. These games will be available throughout the entire duration of your PSP subscription; but when your subscription ends, you won’t be able to play them anymore. However, if you choose to renew your subscription at any time, the games WILL become available again!
If you downloaded a free game but no longer have it in your library, you can stay relieved knowing that this is available for re-download at any time through the PlayStation Store (as long as you’re still a PSP member).
The PlayStation Plus free games are a massive benefit, and some of the past games have included Call of Duty: Black Ops, A Plague Tale: Innocence, Operation: Tango, and countless more! This saves TONS, especially since you can continue to enjoy the games at no extra cost aside from the membership fee.
PlayStation Plus Free Games for April 2023:

Play as PlayStation classic hero Sackboy in a colorful, 3D adventure full of adventures and tasks that can be taken on solo and with the help of friends.
Make Your Maker | PS4 & PS5 (M for Mature)
This post-apocalyptic game is unlike any on the market; each level is designed by fellow players! Enjoy combating battles and creating levels.
Tails of Iron | PS4 (T for Teens)
Tails of Iron is a hand-drawn game that follows the story of Redgi who is the king of the rat throne. Playing as Redgi, you must fight to restore your place in the now-broken kingdom!
Curious to know more benefits of the PlayStation Plus membership beyond the free games?
PlayStation Plus has multiplayer content that completely changes your gaming experience
This is a huge advantage for a PlayStation Plus membership; gamers are required to have one in order to play with each other, so if you’re looking to play multiplayer with friends, you’re going to need a PSP membership.
You may be thinking, can’t you just play as a single player? Well, you can, however, isn’t it more fun to play with other gamers and friends? Not to mention, there are plenty of games that actually continually and regularly update and add content for multiplayer versions as opposed to just starting and finishing a game as a single-player, where there’s usually no way of really updating the game.
To name a few games that regularly use multiplayer:
You can find more games that use multiplayer on the PlayStation website HERE! There are even online multiplayer tournaments, where you can win big prizes just by having a copy of the game, a PSP membership, and availability for the time of the competition!
While being part of PS Plus, you’ll also be able to share your screen with a friend’s TV so they can watch you play. You can even play with two people in two separate locations with one copy of a game.
PlayStation Plus offers extra storage, discounts, and custom content just for PSP members!
An additional 100GB of cloud storage is given for game saves. Whether you need to backup your games or tack on some additional content, this extra space is a LIFESAVER for players as they don’t have to worry about running out of data to save any of their progress. 🙌
You’ll also get countless discounts for pretty much any purchase from the PlayStation Store. This means getting the best deals on select games, pre-sales, add-ons, and more. These savings are applied in addition to ANY promotional offer happening, so you would save even more! You’ll also get early access to select game demos and many more rewards you can learn about HERE!
They offer extra content packs for select existing games that are exclusive to PS Plus members. In addition to this, there are also countless avatars and themes given to customize your dashboard – how fun!
Gain access to tips and hints while playing your favorite PlayStation games!
The membership will even provide something known as “Game Help”, which essentially is a feature that gives hints and tips while playing your favorite games. This is a golden feature if you’re stuck on a level or mission and want direct help instead of searching it and potentially finding spoilers.
This is especially great for games that contain many puzzles such as Oddworld: SoulStorm and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. You can read more about how this feature came to life on the PlayStation Blog!
However, if you’re just trialing the membership, do what feels most appropriate. Check out the subscriptions page for PlayStation for more info!
Subscriptions are purchased using a credit card, debit card, PayPal, or membership card. Auto-renewal is switched on by default, meaning a new membership will automatically start and charge your card once the old one expires; be sure to switch that feature off if that’s not what your preference is. If it’s on, the membership will continue until canceled.
Membership cards are a great way to gift and avoid auto-pay since they’re purchased in stores or as an e-gift!

Some of our team at Hip2Save are PlayStation Plus members! Here’s what they had to say:
“For me, PlayStation Plus is a necessity, the main reason being that you can’t play online without it & that’s most of the fun. Also, if I’m willing to wait and not get new games right as they come out, there’s a good chance I’ll see them offered totally for free in the PS Plus store in about a year or less.
There are also some cool, free games from lesser-known developers which I probably would have never found without it! Also, I always renew my membership around Black Friday because I’ve snagged a really good year membership price that way.”
“I have had PlayStation Plus for about 2 years now and love the benefits! For the most part, the free games have been a lot of fun and popular. You also get some pretty good discounts on many other games throughout the library, and many discounts are about 50% off or more!
One other thing I want to stress I never pay full price for my subscriptions! When I know my renewal is coming up, I usually wait until we have posted a deal on Hip2Save for a 1-Year Subscription Card (usually half price) and just simply add that digital card to my account! It’s a win, win in my opinion!” – Rachel
In conclusion, it seems that all the gamers in your life will greatly benefit from this valuable membership from the free games to the added incentives. With all the perks, it’s a great subscription and can really enhance your gaming experience. You end up making your money back from the membership with all the free content and discounts offered!
Game on! 🎮
Got an old Playstation console not being used? Try electronic recycling & reselling!
If you go to CDKeys.com you can get a 3 month scrip for $24.59 or a 12 month scrip for only $49.89. We’ve done it for 2 yrs. now. That’s the normal price. I went on site to have the PSN compare the 3 scrips. The only difference from ours & your two is your scrips have a larger catalog of games you can choose from. The most expensive one of yours includes games all the way back to the PS1. But outside of that the perks are the same.
Thank you so much for sharing, Sylvia! I will be sure to pass this along to the team! 🤗 ❤️
