Whenever I play with my roommate’s cat using other toys it takes a lot of energy and mental effort for me to engage him, otherwise, he gets bored. This toy is really nice because it takes minimal energy and effort for me to entertain him, all I have to do is swish it around a lot or stick it in a hole somewhere and the cat loves it.
What can I say? Every cat I’ve ever had has loved the heck out of these things, but the biggest impact has been with the 1-year-old velociraptor we adopted thinking we were getting a kitten. She hated everyone but me, and only tolerated me because I gave her food. Cue the cat dancer. Zero loves it. My 7-year-old daughter plays with her it for hours with it, and now Zero loves her. Meets her at the door after school, let’s her pet her, and even tolerates the occasional pickup. It’s all due to the cat dancer. It’s definitely a great bonding tool.

Both of my cats really love this simple toy, but DO NOT leave it out when unattended! It is just tightly- wound brown-paper pieces threaded on a piece of wire, and cats can easily hurt themselves by eating the paper off or chewing on the wire if left unattended!

If you have a car, you have to get this! They are not super durable, so we buy 5 at a time. It is our cat’s favorite toy. We do leave them laying around the house all 3 stories of our house ((so there is always a few near) so thanks for the tip to put them away.
