We let Hip readers know back in 2020 that Dollar General was launching a new store concept called pOpshelf. These new stores are larger than the average Dollar General and feature a large selection of trendy decor and seasonal items.
Hip2Save community has had a chance to check out their local stores – and loved it! Plus, on our most recent trip, we shopped a Buy 1, Get 1 FREE sale that included a TON of summer items.
We spotted so many cute decor pieces, a large selection of planters, outdoor pillows, and more. Note this sale ends Saturday, July 30th, and is valid in-stores only.

If you have one of these stores in your area, you’re in for a treat. Almost everything we found was under $20, and there was so much amazing stuff! Even at their regular shelf prices, you can score $1 greeting cards and gift bags, $10 throw pillows and blankets, and so much more! The store was very well organized and easy to shop. Plus, the staff was super friendly! It got two thumbs up from us!
