I began using Mason Jars to store almost everything this year. I bought this Jar Sealer to prolong the life of the products I am storing and it works like a dream. When I grab a jar I have sealed I always get to hear the sound of air rushing back in when I break the seal that lets me know that it has been vacuum sealed. Vacuum sealing can double and even triple the freshness of many food products.

I make practically *everything* from scratch and having this Sealer is indispensable. It will pay for itself many times over.

These jar sealers are amazing for dry storage. I used them on some big jars of rice. I let them sit for months and when I opened them there was still a lot of vacuum on them. So much so, that some of the rice escaped when I tried to open it too fast!

We’ve tried to put rice in traditional FoodSaver bags but after a month or so the rice caused small holes and air returned. This never happens with this accessory – on either wide-mouth jars or regular-mouth jars.
