These small fleece blankets are GREAT donations for dog rescues and shelters (the shelters use them in the vet clinic to line crates where dogs and cats are recovering post-surgery; rescues use them to line crates and top kuranda beds in kennels and foster homes). I foster dogs, and we have a big basket of random, small fleece blankets in different patterns that are clean and ready for use — some were holiday clearance patterns, some not. If a dog chews a hole in one, who cares when it only cost $3? If a dog pukes or pees on it in a crate, again, who cares when it’s easy to sanitize it and put it back into service? They’re also great to drape over dog beds so that the covers don’t have to be removed and washed as often, as the “doggie smell” is in the blanket instead (which can be washed and changed frequently).
Love that idea, Maggie. Thanks so much for these details and the suggestion! 🙌💖
