The instructions are easy to follow, and I used them for the base, stand, and tree trunk. Once I got to the branches, leaves, and frog flowers, I went free-form. Using all of the brown, green, white, and pink Legos I only had 4 items left over (a spare peg, a rubber grommet, one other tiny black piece, and the Lego separator tool). This was such a fun, relaxing project that I’m excited to have it in my home. It takes a little practice getting the pieces to balance and stay put (especially if you abandon the directions), but Legos are all about that process.

I really enjoyed building this, and the outcome is very beautiful! It comes with green leaves, but I used the fun pink frogs and flowers that also come with it (it’s really why I bought it) 😉

My recommendation is to only open the bags you need at the moment. The booklet will tell you which ones to use and when. Also, be very patient and somewhat gentle. Some of the portions are really tedious (like the branches), and trunk I also had to come apart a couple of times cause I got a little too aggressive trying to add the branches. I’d also put the “gravel” portion in last, even though it’s section 3 in the booklet. This is just in case of what I ran into with the trunk and you don’t have to dump it all out.

Overall, great build with a beautiful piece for my shelf. Looking forward to buying some of the other botanical builds!
