The best feature common to the best LEGO sets is their level of detail. From the box, I could tell this would be a great set. It REALLY gets life from the little extras that take shape while it is being built. People who love space exploration know that there is more to space travel than someone hopping on a shuttle and shooting off to the stars. Astronauts have to train to prepare for the trip. There is an entire team of people working back on solid ground to make sure the trip goes successfully. I think this set is special because it captures those other elements so well. Kids can imagine their astronauts going through physical training and educating themselves about their mission before crossing the bridge to the shuttle and taking off.
