I was so impressed by this advent calendar that I am going to go and buy a second one for my mom. It is absolutely delightful in spirit and it looks so good lit up. It is a fairly good size and would look good on a mantel or countertop. The figures remind me of German figures. It is just adorable!
The visual impact of this Advent Calendar is what attracted me when I first saw it advertised on the internet. Sometimes seeing things on a screen and not “in person” leaves one disappointed. Not with this really great wooden creation. Add some batteries, turn the lights on and you’ll really enjoy the visual attractiveness. the boxes are relatively small, but otherwise, this will be highly enjoyed by my grandkids.
It was larger than expected, which I like! It seems to be really good quality. I’m looking forward to using it next year as a lead-up to Christmas. The little drawers look big enough for a Hershey’s kiss or Rolo, maybe even something larger.
This would be a great Hip2 sweepstakes item, maybe for next year. If I wasn’t hurt by Ian this year, I definitely would have considered this. I know the drawers look small, but you could always be creative and put notes of activities like read a book, choose a game to play, share the best thing that you remember about this year, or a past Christmas memory. The season doesn’t have to be all about things that cost money, or candy. You could scatter a few treats in there too, or a coin or something. One of the best Christmas memories my son has is when I made Christmas into a scavenger hunt. I didn’t have much in the way of money, so I had him open the one gift under the tree and follow the clues to find either more clues, or a gift. You could do the same with the Advent calendar.
That’s such a great idea, Sue!!! I love your resourcefulness, especially the Christmas scavenger hunt. I’ll be sure to pass these suggestion along to the team!!🥰
