We asked teachers what they wanted for the best gifts ideas and gift cards were the number one answer along with sentimental handwritten thank-you notes. I feel like this is such a cute and fun way to go the extra mile when giving a gift card.
My grocery store has a Starbucks, so I was able to grab a drink holder and a coffee drink. Then cruised on over to the floral department and found a small potted orchid, a candle on the candle aisle, and lastly, a gift card.

Extra tips for compiling this easy DIY teacher gift:
- Curious about what your teacher’s favorite drink/scent/stores are? Ask them! Here is an excellent free PDF teacher questionnaire from SkiptoMyLou.org you can print or send to your child’s teacher if you’d like. Or you could just email them and ask.
- Starbucks and Sonic drinks and holders are excellent choices for this gift. You could also find similar plastic holders at the dollar store or on Amazon.com. This classroom caddy would work great and the teacher can then reuse it!
I love fun small gift ideas that are also thoughtful.
