Show Your Appreciation to Delivery Drivers: Download Our Free Printable!
This FREE thank you delivery drivers sign is the perfect way to show your appreciation!
This is such an easy way to thank the folks who make online shopping possible!
If you’re like me and do lots of shopping online, then it’s possible you could be getting packages delivered several times a week! Plus, with the recent conclusion of Amazon Prime Days, Walmart deals, Target Circle Week, you may have plenty of packages on the way! With that said, here’s a fun and easy way to say THANK YOU as a way of giving back to those hardworking delivery drivers all year long!
They’re an important part of making online shopping easy for everyone, and they definitely deserve our appreciation and a nice shout-out. ❤️
Thank a delivery driver with some snacks!
Consider putting a small basket of grab-and-go refreshments, such as individually wrapped snacks, on your doorstep for a delivery person to grab and go as they drop off packages at your home. You can get the kids involved to help put together your treat box as an easy project.
It’s just a small act of kindness that can brighten someone’s day and can help fuel a driver’s energy too! We’re even giving away the free delivery driver appreciation printable sign!
We now have two designs for you to choose from!
Our Christmas version of this delivery driver appreciation sign has been so popular over the last couple of years, we decided to include this separate thank you sign to use year-round! Now you can do this fun tradition all year or at the holidays!

Hip Tips to thank a delivery driver with this care package:
- If you’re concerned about small animals getting into snacks, consider using a small cooler instead. You could also use a small cooler for cold drinks if you’re in warmer weather like me.
- Consider using a laminator machine on our FREE printable so it will last longer outdoors.
- Some great snack suggestions: granola bars, Cheez-Its, trail mix, fruit snacks, energy bars, beef jerky, fresh fruit, and bottled water.
My thank you basket has been a success!
On a personal note, this basket has been on my porch for 2 holiday seasons and it’s really FUN to watch and hear on our outdoor Nest camera. The drivers have always been so appreciative and some of them yell out, “Thank You!” and a few have come back to leave a sweet thank you note! 😍

Great idea! The Today Show had a great Ring Doorbell video of a delivery guy grabbing snacks from a basket like this. He was so excited about the basket of goodies, and he did a little happy dance!
YES!! I loved seeing that too. I’ve heard drivers on my camera say things like “WOW! and thank you!” It’s so fun! <3
So cute!!! Y’all are killing it with these printables! ❤️
Aw thanks so much! Enjoy <3
Thank you so much for this print out and the reminder! Sometimes we forget how small things really do brighten someone’s day! 😀
YES!! I so agree – something small like this can mean so much <3
I’ve been doing this all week! I figured out my mailman likes the Cheetos and oreos the best ❤ UPS leaves notes!
That’s awesome!!
We just did this as a family yesterday! I love the idea! (For the past ten years our family has done 25 days of service in December. I write a list of 25 things to do on our fridge and we pick one each day to complete and cross off. We focus on people who help us-trash collectors, mail carriers, teachers, animals, etc. It really helps our family remember others this time of year and is my kids’ fav tradition!)
I love that idea as a tradition Kaylee! – Thanks for sharing <3
I’m a mail carrier – this time of year these are always appreciated! Merry Christmas 🎄
Great!! And thanks so much for helping everyone have a wonderful Christmas Kristie!
We appreciate you ALL YEAR but are amazed and EXTREMELY GRATEFUL for you going the extra mile during the holidays. Thank you!!
From Eagleville, TN
THANK YOU FOR THIS! I’ve had stuff out the past week with no sign and not much has been taken. I’ve wanted to make something up but haven’t had the time, so THANK YOU!
My delivery folks loved this so much that when we were selling our house earlier this year, 2 separate mail carriers expressed their sadness over us leaving because they would miss the treats, lol. Our new place has a community box for USPS and I haven’t quite figured out how to put out goodies for them.
Aw that’s sweet!
Leave a small token of gratitude (snack, gift, etc.) in the back of the mailbox with ‘postal carrier’ written on it so they know it is for them 🙂
Love it! Thanks so much for this idea and for making it so easy for us to share the love! Just put my box of goodies out!
yay!! Good for you – thanks for stopping by!
So thoughtful! I just love this!!!
Thanks so much!
We do this too! My kids love it too and like to peek out the window to see what they took! So far the planters peanuts deal that we found on H2S has been the winner!
Yes!! Nice score, and thanks for sharing!
Thanks, I want to do a basket like this and the sign will help me get moving on it!
You’re very welcome! Enjoy!
I’m so doing this. I think I will add some home baked goodies too. Thank you for the great idea!!!!
That’s so nice- you’re so welcome!
You posted this years ago and we now do it every year!! They are so very appreciative. I even carry it out to the garbage men!
Oh that’s so nice! Go Suzy!
I’m so excited I want to do this!!! I have a lot of black Friday things on there way.
Yes, it’s so much fun!
Yay! Me too!
I would do this for UPS, FedEx and USPS because we order a lot of stuff and they are awesome about delivering our stuff. For the most part, we have a UPS, USPS, FedEx drivers that regularly come to our house because our house is on their route. In contrast, I don’t want to feed Amazon contract drivers, LOL. Amazon contractors perform a one-off delivery. I don’t think they are deserving of my snacks. Just being honest. Does this make me the Grinch? Can my sign also say “…but no Amazon contractors”?
I honestly don’t know anything about amazon contracted drivers so I don’t want to sound snarky… but they are still people who are bringing packages to your door… so I’d say still give them a snack. Everyone could use a little love, especially at Christmas. That’s just my thought..
Hmmm, good point. Thanks for pointing that out, and doing it respectfully Becky08. I was just sharing my thoughts and you shared yours. After reading your thoughts, I think your thoughts are better.
Aww that’s so sweet! I think the Grinch’s heart grew 3 sizes today ❤️ ❤️❤️ Merry Christmas!!🎄
So Amazon does not have any drivers on their payroll anymore as far as I know. They hire companies and the companies will pay the employees. Those employees work 4 days a week 10 hour days. I work with them and I think they are really good people. They sometimes have more than 300 stops to make in less than 10 hours. They also hire flex drivers. These are like uber drivers for amazon. They work when they want and in their own cars. Most one day shipping packages are delivered by them. I don’t work with these guys personally but I can’t imagine them being lazy or not deserving. I’m sure when they work they work as hard as any other driver to get your packages. All I can say is just my distribution center has around 400 drivers that are not just one time drivers they work full time. Just my opinion. Merry Christmas all.
They drive amazon vans and wear amazon shirts here. It used to be in their own cars but that changed about 4 months ago
Yes, love this outlook <3. Spreading kindness to everyone is my jam too!
Careful. My husband is a mail carrier and he will do Sundays’ Amazon parcel through the USPS as well, so the “one-off” delivery is not true.
…but he would deliver it in a USPS truck as a USPS employee, correct? If so, he is not an Amazon contractor. I was referring to the “one-off” specifically to Amazon CONTRACTORS.
Not necessarily. During this time of year, there are rare ocassions that a post office may not have enough vehicles for the day and will have carriers use their own vehicle to deliver mail. Also, they made cuts with uniforms, so your mail carrier may not have uniform as well.
Yes, I feel putting a sign out that excludes some delivery drivers is cheap and petty. On the other hand, all of these drivers receive a paycheck and the majority of people have more work to do around the holidays (especially retail workers). Every job has its perks and disadvantages, employers should take care of employees.
my cousin drives for amazon, he does the same 4 cities. he loves his job , he makes silly videos, he takes pride in delivering…he may be a one off but he said most of the drivers are “cool dudes” and not miserable like the warehouse workers we know. I say if they bring a package, and want a snack, snack away and more importantly I say, I love that you read what someone else said and took that to heart, especially on the internet, that seems rare
Not true for Amazon delivery drivers. They load up for a shift and definitely don’t just go to the facility and pick up 1 item to deliver to 1 customer.
I dont believe that during the Holiday season anyone should be off limits. I just let my Walmart driver who delivered my groceries get snacks from my box. Tis the season.. share the love!
Sounds like she wanted to particularly reward the people that regularly come to her house to let them know she appreciates them. I can understand that. I’m not sure of her experience with the Amazon contractors but mine is they plop packages right in front of my door with no attempt to hide them the way UPS and Fedex (and sometimes USPS) does. I have a table and chair on the porch. It takes an extra second to plop the box behind one of those. Glad she decided to share snacks with all though. You never know people’s situation. That snack might be a life saver for someone. Some people are really struggling.
you can put a note in the delivery to say please hide package behind the plant or chair. we see all the instructions when we are walking up to the delivery address. then if they get it right there are ways to reward them with badges that they followed instructions or a bad badge that failed to follow instructions. you driver b
Thank you for responding. I have clear instructions for package placement. Most drivers ignore them. I regularly note my dissatisfaction with my delivery and indicate it’s because the driver didn’t follow instructions. When they follow instructions, I note that too.
Poor amazon drivers are the probably the lost deserving. Amazon treats us like crap. I am a flex driver only because I can work super early short shifts. I’m a full time caregiver. we are paid $18. we have to pay our own gas and wear and tear/maintenance plus 30% taxes (15% plus 15% self employment tax. they give us crazy routes and sometimes it’s impossible to finish in the allotted time due to the extra time it takes to deliver to hi-rises and apartment complex. and if u get whole foods or amazon fresh delivers we are paid even less. tips are supposed to make up for it, but you’d be amazed how many people order super heavy items (water, drinks or cat litter) and still don’t tip. we also get no benefits or perks. it really is a hard job. especially when it’s dark and we can’t see house numbers or gate codes don’t work. please cut ur amazon drivers some slack.
I thought this was such a great idea — we live in Maine at the bottom of a nasty, usually icy hill but they come down and deliver anyway! I went to make up a sign and found yours – all ready to go! Score!!! Thanks for saving me an hour! That was service in itself!
Oh yay!! Thanks for sharing that Margaret- Happy Holidays!
My basket has been a success. I put it out on Monday because I did 90% of my Black Friday shopping online this year so we’ve had UPS USPS and Amazon delivery every day this week and they all take something each day.
Great!! Thanks so much for sharing Aimee
What kind of items are you putting out? I want to do this and would like to know which items they like. 😀
Our UPS driver saw me outside with our dog on Tuesday as he drove to the neighbors. I knew he was stopping at our house next so I quickly took the dog in. She is a little rambunctious when she meets new people. She loves them a little too much. He showed up and put our boxes on the porch with a dog treat on top. The dog loved this. He did it again the next day too. 😉 . We left him a card with 2 candy bars on it today and of course he left another dog treat!!!!
Aw I love that story!! Thanks Christy!
Awww!!!
Love this idea!
May I also add to remember to tip your drivers, either directly or in app, when you use services like Shipt or instacart. These folks are not employees so cover all their delivery related expenses. A friend delivers for one of these services, and spends a lot of time making sure she gets exactly what the customer wants, often going above and beyond. The other night she had an order that included Christmas decorations and presents, some of which were not available at the store. After checking to make sure that the store did not have the items in the back, she sent many pictures of options to the customer, so the customer could make a choice. This added about a half hour to her time, but she gets paid by the shop. Sadly, no tip.
I use instacart to shop for my elderly parents who live 500 miles from me. They are always charged a hefty tip on the order. What they receive is nasty produce, moldy bread and wrong items on every order. These people don’t deserve the big tips that are automatically added to the order. Since I am so far away and they can no longer shop we are stick with their horrible service.
are they near a walmart? walmart has amazing pick up and delivery. i’ve been doing it for my son who lives in another state for a few months now..i am not typically a walmart shopper but I have been very impressed
We have had horrible experiences with pick up where we live but we may need to try them. They just recently got WalMart delivery in their area. Thanks.
sad when they take it out on the drivers. I wish we could educate people we c9ntract and paid so little.
Thanks for this! I just made a basket with some things we had on hand and put it outside. I think all my packages have been delivered so far today so it might be too late. But I will set it out again tomorrow!
Perfect!! Thanks for sharing <3
My family does this every year too and the drivers love it!I feel like even if they don’t take a snack they still appreciate the gesture and thought. We get so excited when we come home and someone has gotten a snack or drink! It really is the small things in life 😘
Yes! I so agree!! Thanks for sharing <3
I did this last year, and I’m not sure how many treats the delivery people got because the darn SQUIRRELS kept taking them! I first found my basket tipped over and everything scattered, the next day the basket and treats were spread across our front yard so I put a heavy rock at the bottom of the basket. Within a day every single snack (including fruit snacks) were gone – no sign of them. Somewhere, high up in tree there is a squirrel nest lined with a lot of snack wrappers! ~ I’m going to try it again this year with a small basket that hangs from the door knob.
Haha! This made me laugh! Those are some lucky squirrels. 🙂 I am putting my snacks in a clear tub with a lid with the sign on top because we have some dogs/cats in our neighborhood.
LOL those sneaky buggers! That happens to us when camping. One took off with my whole carton of eggs. lol Maybe something with a lid?
hahaha I LOVE IT. i love squirrels…rascally little thieves.
I have used OXO Good grips pop container. It is clear container so they can see what’s in it and very secured. it worked perfect if you have those containers.
Thank you for the sign! For years I’ve been doing at least 90% of my Christmas shopping online (scoring great deals due to Hip2Save). I just printed the sign and set out some goodies, since I work from home I secretly watch them deliver everything anyway, so I’m excited to see if anyone takes anything!
That’s so great! I am the same way, and get excited to when I get a delivery now!
Thank you so much for this idea and printable! I’ve always left a little treat in the mailbox for the mailman but unfortunately have neglected the delivery drivers that leave stuff on my porch. Just made my basket. Thanks again!
Oh hooray!! Sure- and thanks for stopping by!
Just a quick note to make sure the snacks are easy to eat on the run. The drinks are always helpful too. Working at UPS some of our drivers have over 400 stops to make and don’t always get a lunch even though they should. This year has record online shopping so we all are exceptionally busy… I do know the drivers all appreciate this simple form of gratitude. And another note… those taking baskets in many drivers deliver up to 9pm this time of year so leave a porch light on and basket if you want out until at least 9pm…. Happy Holidays!
I PUT OUT MY BASKET OF GOODIES AND BOTTLED WATER! MY UPS GUY GOT HIM A WATER I KNOW, PRETTY SURE HE WAS SMILING.
Yay!! That’s awesome Tammy 👏
I did this last year and no one took water bottle or gatorade.. I don’t know why?? but they took mix nuts.
I will do this again. Thank you.
Nice! Thanks so much for stopping by 👍
I do water and bottles of Mountain Dew. The Dew is always gone! They probably need a caffeine boost. The small bags of chips are a hit too.
I wonder if they don’t take drinks because of needing to use the bathroom.
Thanks for your printable. I did this last year and am doing again this year. No one had taken water, so I think I’ll add juice or energy drinks when I go to the store. So far, I went to the dollar store and got bags of snacks. They have boom chickapop, pretzel thins, various nuts, etc. Except for one taker of the popcorn bags, every single person has gone for the chocolate covered pretzels! FLIPZ! I am going to stock up on those!
Oh how nice! Thanks for sharing ❤️
I left goodies and this sign for my delivery drivers and the temporary driver that is on my route looked at them like I was crazy to do it. Idk maybe here in the Rio grande valley the drivers are not used to kindness ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I will continue to leave them out for all to enjoy.
Ha – Aw well I’m so glad you are doing this then!
Thank You!! My husband works for USPS, and these baskets have been a huge blessing!! <3
Oh that’s so sweet to hear! Thanks for sharing Twyla <3

Granola bars, ritz bits cracker sandwiches, nutrigrain bars. Just watch out for the critters. I had to move my snacks to a bag on the door knob because squirrels were stealing them. I even saw an opossum the other night come up on the porch. Yikes! Getting a cooler soon.
Lisa, I live in a cold area – freezing in fact. I leave these snacks … Granola bars, Nutragrain bars, cheese and crackers packets. Bags of peanuts and bags of chips cause they don’t freeze. For a sweet treat I’ve got Reeses peanut butter cups and peppermint patties they are better when cold or even frozen. I leave bottled water.
The basket comes inside every night or I’d have frozen water bottles.
Anything you’d carry for a snack works just great. I figure it’ll only take a couple minutes to warm up to the vehicle temperature. I think they are just happy to have an unexpected treat.
I do it all year round. For instance my Pharmacy delivers and so I always give them large size dark chocolate bars by Ghirardelli or lindt. I usually never have cash on hand but I always have those in my cupboard! I tell him even if they don’t like dark chocolate they can put them in cookies or brownies
Love this! I keep missing the delivery drivers and this way I don’t have to keep watch. Also, as I was reading this post, FOX News just had a shout out about it on air. Hopefully, lots of delivery drivers will get treats… they definitely work hard! Our UPS driver actually thanked my husband for the frequency in which he visits our house and his job security 😂
Ha funny!
I saw that as well. The driver was so happy he even did a little dance. I thought that was awesome. Hopefully the drivers in my area will now know why I have them there. I only put snacks that won’t melt. I can’t put water because it’s still VERY hot in my area.
I work for Usps and I came across this delivering today!!!! Same sign how funny!!! I was so grateful I took a candy and a water! I’m going to do this at my house because it really made my day and really a nice gesture!
AHH YAY!!! So fun – that’s awesome 🙂
We leave our basket out year round and add extra special treats during the holidays. I frequently find thank you notes in the basket from the drivers.
Wow! That’s so nice! Thanks for sharing Kathy 🙂
Thank for the printable. I’m going to set up my bucket tomorrow morning.
Perfect! Thanks Wanda for stopping by!
I’ve handed out gift cards this year. I have ordered so much I owe them not just a snack but lunch 😂
That’s very nice and generous! Love it 😍
Too funny!! I JUST printed off this exact sign today and put treats out on the porch this morning!! 😂 great minds think alike!
What type of cactus is that? It’s so pretty!
I am SO doing this! Delivery people move fast and work so hard, especially with the added pressure of the holidays. Thanks, Lina!
Sure! Thanks for stopping by!
My husband is a UPS driver and I can’t tell you how much stuff like this means to them. He has been working VERY long days (currently 1013pm here and he’s still out there) and they rarely take any real break. He’s a tough guy and doesn’t often complain about his work since we are both grateful for his good job, but he texted me today and said “I don’t know if I’m going to make it through today. I’m physically and mentally exhausted.” I offered to bring our daughter to meet him and bring him dinner (since he’s hardly seen her in weeks and I know he has probably hardly eaten all day). He said that’s ok, his last stop had some of this stuff out and he was able to grab some chips and a soda and it really picked up his spirits. You really don’t know how much this stuff means to them, so thanks to all that do this. And yes, I am still guilty of buying WAY too much stuff online myself. 🙂 I also agree with other people that said to give them stuff that’s good for eating on the go, since they rarely can really stop.
Aw…well many thanks to him, and thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. ❤️
Agreed! My son-in-law is a FedEx driver, and has been working later and later every day. He’s sometimes lucky just to eat a snickers bar for the whole day. This will really help, and I know it would be so appreciated, especially this time of year. I’m going to Target as soon as I get off work, to get a plastic storage bin to set up mine for our front porch, (I have to worry about squirrels, raccoons, and even black bears), and to grab as many snacks as it will hold. Thanks for the printable sign and the wonderful idea!
Sure! And I’m so glad you’re figuring out how to participate – Happy Holidays Debbie!
I remember reading about this a few years ago on hip2save and one thing mentioned that I thought was a great idea was putting hand warmer packets out for them too.
Oh I love that ❤️thanks for sharing Cathy.
My friend did this but the drivers are in such a hurry they don’t take time to notice the box with food!
I just made up my cooler and laminated your printable! I love this idea! Thank you so much =)
YES! This makes me so happy – and glad for your drivers! Thanks for sharing Jane!
Thanks for the reminder and free printable! I kept meaning to do this, but your post was the extra boost I needed! Sign and snacks are ready to go out tomorrow a.m. 🙂
Yes, that’s so great! Thanks Angela 😀
Thank you so much for the great idea! I did this and I love watching them on my Ring doorbell and seeing what they have taken each day. Makes my heart happy ♥️
Yay! I know it’s so fun 😍 Thanks for sharing Kelley!
Thank you for posting this! Also another great set of people to thank this time of year are crossing guards at your kids schools. People drive extra crazy this time of the year and things get extra stressful for them as well, but they’re still there keeping kids safe every day. ❤️
Yes, good idea – thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much! I love this idea, but I am not creative, so me coming up with a sign just wouldn’t happen. Thank you for including a sign I could print! Snacks are now outside my door:)
Yay! You’re so welcome – thanks for stopping by Julie!
We did it with your print out and it’s so cute! Used spray glue to attach the paper to a small board of wood. I wish I could upload a picture. Thank you for this easy and thoughtful way to show some gratitude.
Awesome Ang! Email me! ❤️Lina@hip2save.com – I’d love to see it.
I put a basket of snacks & a basket of drinks in the middle of my cul-de-sac with your sign so even if they were not delivering to me today the drivers would see the treats. Sure enough UPS came by and the 2 drivers were thrilled and very grateful. Like my mom always said “it’s the little things that count” & this small gesture made them feel special. THANK YOU for the idea!!!
OH MY GOSH!! You’re the best! I love this so much. Thanks for stopping by to tell us <3
