Create this ghostly DIY Halloween gift basket by using our you’ve been booed FREE printables below, and fill a box/basket/bag with frightening and thrilling goodies to brighten someone’s day.
I designed 3 separate printable gift tags with corresponding gift ideas in mind for Halloween!
I’ve created a family-friendly version you can pair with candy and Halloween treats, as well as an adult “You’ve Been Boozed” gift basket idea, plus some bonus fun wine tags to pair with bottles of wine!
These are small yet thoughtful gestures that are fun to give and fun to receive.
1. You’ve Been Booed Free Printable With Gift Basket
Create a small gift basket with candy and any fun Halloween toys or treats you’d like! Simply print the free poem and fill a basket or bag with inexpensive Halloween items like stickers, candy, glow sticks, etc. I found my cute bucket and treats at the Dollar Tree!
Then secretly place the bag on the doorknob of family, friends, or neighbors. It’s so fun for the kids to participate – my kids used to love creating and giving these even more than they like receiving them.
2. You’ve Been Boozed Free Printable with Gift Basket Idea
Here’s a fun adult version of the “You’ve Been Booed” surprise Halloween gift tradition! Create a gift basket of favorite adult beverages such as cans of hard seltzer, beer, or small bottles of alcohol.
In this example, I included ingredients to make a Moscow mule, which is my favorite cocktail. It consists of a bottle of ginger beer, a small bottle of vodka, and a lime! You could get very creative and cater this idea to your recipient as desired.
I love this idea as it’s clever and so fun to put together. Just print and add the free printable poem to go along with the gift. I found my basket, the filling, and the cute skeleton all at The Dollar Tree!
3. Free Printable Halloween Themed Wine Tags
Wine is always a welcomed gift idea! If you’ll be attending any adult Halloween parties, this would be a fun and thoughtful host or hostess gift idea.
Simply print and attach one of these free gift tags to a bottle of wine using a hole punch and ribbon. It’s a cute and easy way to turn an ordinary bottle of wine into something funny and thoughtful!
Boo-ya! what a fun surprise gift.
This is such a simple yet thoughtful gift and gesture for those who love the spooky season. It’s also a great way to let the loved ones in your life know that it’s time to embrace the Halloween spirit while also showing your appreciation for them! Hopefully, they’ll pass it on to the next person, and the amount of “You’ve Been Boo-ed!” surprises will continue to increase. Enjoy!

We did this when our son was little, and it was so fun and a good lesson for reaching out to our neighbors. It was fun to see how far it would get through the neighborhood. My son liked to see who got booed by looking for the sign in their windows.
Aw that is so cute!
This is freaky awesome! Thanks π
We got Boo-ed today! π
Oh how fun!
I did something similar to this for a friend who is confined to a wheelchair by filling an empty 2 liter plastic bottle with Halloween goodies, stickers, pumpkin necklace, and even included a pumpkin solar light. Cut a βdoorβ in the side of the bottle, lined the inside with tissue paper so no one could see inside, filled the bottle with the goodies and taped it closed. Included a note on the outside saying she had been Boo-Ed and mailed it to her, using her address for the return address. It was over a year before I finally confessed that I was the one to send it. She said she couldnβt stop giggling…it had made her day.
Oh that is so sweet and funny. loved how you mailed it! ππ
So, I really love the adult version and want to do it. But I have questions! It sounds like you normally put up a sign or something to let folks know you’ve been boo’d so you don’t get repeated. Do you include instructions or a sign? help! – First Time Boo’er
I just included the free printable and the gift basket. Hope that helps! I am sure it’s possible to get booed more than once and it would just be up to the person to continue or not. Hope that helps!
Hi Amy, how I’ve done it in the past was the “you’ve got boo’d” sign stays on the door so people know not to repeat (and hopefully most people in the neighborhood get boo’d). However, it is possible to get both boo’d and boozed (one for the parents and one for the kiddos).
I’ve sometimes even included a few extra printouts so they can resdistribute to the next person (or ask them to make a photo copy themselves if it runs out). For example, you might give it to 1 or multiple neighbors, they each give it to 1 or multiple neighbors and the joy spreads!
Thanks so much for taking a moment to share your tips and feedback, Halloween Lover! π₯°π
Could you create one for Christmas?
Thanks for the idea! I will share with our team. π
