Their beer bread mix is amazing!!! It’s not always available, so I stock up when it’s there.
YUM! Thanks for sharing your favorite!
How could you forget to include the dark chocolate sunflower seed butter cups?
Those do sound yummy, Gail! We’ll be sure to check for those too!
Not under $2 but their corn chili salsa ❤️
Thanks a ton for the suggestion! That does sound good!
Have to say I was disappointed in the daffodils I got there. Very few even opened. Love their alstroemeria. $3.99 and they last more than 2 weeks
Oh darn! Sorry to hear about that, Deb! Thanks for sharing your experience! Good to know you have been pleased with their alstroemeria!
Me too! They all just looked so sad, not sprightly and springlike. I tossed them after it became apparent that they were DEFECTIVE daffodils!
I love their cookie butter spread, cookie butter cookies, and cookie butter ice cream… No, I’m not obsessed or anything with cookie butter 😉 I also love buying potted flowers there, I managed to save my miniature daisy from last year. It’s always a treat to visit Trader Joe’s since the closest one is an hour and a half away.
Same! The cookie butter is amazing!
I loved their cookie butter cheesecake bites. Unfortunately that item has been discontinued.
Ahhhhh, love their ice cream too! The coffee flavor is smashing!
Rice Noodles and Cheddar boxes Mac and Cheese! A very easy gf meal. I recommend adding some ham.
A TJ just opened up a few miles away, so excited! 😁
Yay! That is exciting! Happy shopping!
That pineapple salsa is good
I love the chile lime seasoning and everything but the bagel seasoning too! The Trader Joe’s “Indian Fare Tikka Vegetables” are very good, priced at 1.99. They have several different options too! Pair one of these packets with a pack of their frozen garlic Naan bread !
Salsa verde, dried mango, “walks into” cereal bars, ABC bars,Chomps meat sticks, brown rice pasta, Greek feta salad dressing, just name a few 😊
Their new “dippers” seasoned corn chips (I can’t remember the exact name) are amazing. Try them!
SWEET! Thanks for the heads up on those, Sara!
Everything looks yummy, however I’ve never been to trader joes the closest one i have is like an hour away, my local supermarket is publix which can be expensive at times. Is it really worth the hour trip each way?
My first couple trips I hardly bought anything…. i live about half hour away. To me prices seemed high (milk, yogurt, etc) and I compared everything to aldi which I love for their prices. Make a day of it by going to some other nearby stores too, since it’s not a big store. Bring a list of things recommended by others and I’m sure you’ll leave happy!

I love their Japanese fried rice. It has tofu and edamame in it along with shredded carrots. It’s delicious and easy to prepare- snip the corner of the bag, microwave for 5 minutes, cut the bag open and enjoy! My kids (ages 3&5) even like it! And my husband can prepare it. Priceless. 🥰
Coffee ice cream is really good. Not under $2 tho
I like the pear vinaigrette salad dressing, in cold case with fresh vegetables, frozen macaroni and cheese with Hatch green chili’s when not wanting to cook, coconut milk in carton for smoothies, crunchy almond butter (actually taste tested this against 2 other brands with my sister and T J’s won). I can usually find a greeting card or two for .99 each. Also the small package of dark chocolate peanut butter cups for .99 are darn good. OK, some of these aren’t entirely healthy, but they are tasty!
TJs is not really a substitute for a larger grocery store. If you are looking to stock your pantry for less than you’d spend at Publix, you’d probably be disappointed. TJs has some good prices, primarily on snack foods (as you can tell from this post) and gourmet/foodie items (specialty cheeses, wine, flowers, international food items, organic milk, etc.), and some vegetables. The items I typically purchased were artichokes, fennel, grape tomatoes, peppers and bagged baby butter lettuce (til I found much less expensive stores for these) organic milk, pepper jack cheese, Pastures of Eden feta, Parmesan Reggiano, extra virgin olive oil, pound bars of dark chocolate for baking/desserts, Granny Smith apple granola, raisins, Blenheim dried apricots, candied pecans (for salads), nuts, dried sour cherries (til the price went up steeply), olives, wine (for cooking), champagne vinegar, prosciutto, snacking salami, cinnamon graham crackers, Bergamot iced tea, mochi, tortilla chips, dill pickle popcorn, etc. As you can see, not really the stuff of complete meals. I never bought their meats because they were really expensive and didn’t buy much in the way of their refrigerated or frozen prepared items because I typically cook from scratch. It’s easy to drop $50 without even trying and still not have the ingredients for a complete meal. For me, TJs isn’t the main course; it’s more of the fun complementary ingredients. So, from a strictly economic viewpoint, I’d say it would not be worth the drive. However, if you are foodie who enjoys shopping and exploring new ingredients, it’s worthwhile destination.
Bruschetta sauce!
*Your Bamba post says $1.99, but the sign in the picture shows .99 – just a friendly heads-up. My mother loves them.
Thanks for pointing that out Sue! I’ve updated the price. 🙂
Tomato &Basil spaghetti sauce! So delish!
