How’s your spice cabinet looking?

Mine used to be a complete disaster, with spices just thrown in haphazardly. If you cook a lot, you know the struggle of trying to find a certain spice when it’s hidden or behind five others. I found myself digging through them and taking jars out every time I cooked, which is annoying and time-consuming!

Also, I would spend more as I’d buy multiples of the same spice if I couldn’t find it. 😬

Enter Spicy Shelf Stackable Organizer

Spicy Shelf is a set of expandable shelves that adjust to fit the dimensions of your cabinet. It’s easy to install, and there’s no hardware involved! The shelves don’t attach to the cabinet and they stack! It’s a great use of space, and it lets you see every spice you have in a tidy manner! You can even buy two units and set them up side by side if you have a wider space.

Where can I find a Spicy Shelf? You can purchase this organizer at most big box stores like Walmart and Target, and (of course) on Amazon.com.

I bought a spice rack for inside our cabinet that looks like stairs from Amazon by Youcopia. It also came with labels like the one in your post & extra for when I’ve used the spices. It’s so much more organized than when I used to put them all in our lazy susan.

How neat! Good to know that has been working so well! Thanks for sharing with us, Beck!

My spice racks hang on the back of my pantry door and my spices are now alphabetized (well mostly). I can find what I need quickly and don’t worry about the getting lost in the black hole of the cupboard. It’s one if my favorite organizational purchases ever. Now just to get matching jars and labels.

Oh that’s so smart Melissa! Love it!

I bought the exact same one (Spicy Shelf Stackable Organizer) at Christmas time! It looked intimidating to build because there were SO MANY pieces, but it all went together pretty easily. It is so useful! It made our spice cabinet so organized and clean, and the spices were so much easier to find because they weren’t blocked like a tiered step rack would be. I often open the cabinet just to look at the organization and be in awe at how beautiful it looks. 🙂

Awesome! Thanks for the great review on that organizer! I really need to grab one for my spices. It sure would be helpful when cooking each evening!

This is a great idea! Sometimes I despair at cupboards because they’re not designed for you to make full use of the space. These little shelves are a great solution. Plus, I’ve been needing to organise my spice collection for quite a while now. Does anyone else have a problem with owning too many spices?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Yes! I have to go through my spices every so often! After a while I have so many that I don’t remember what I have! LOL!

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Ha I definitely do! ❤️ thanks Kevin!

I’m glad I’m not the only one haha!

I have two spice strips that you can just pop your spices in and they are just suspended on the wall but nobody has put them up yet. LOL Have had them for almost 2 years but not sure where to hang them. Maybe when I get the cabinets and walls painted in the kitchen this weekend we can figure out where to put them.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

How neat! Hoping you can get them up soon! Thanks a bunch for taking a moment to comment!

I have a ton of spices so I keep mine in plastic shoeboxes and write the names on the lids so I can find them fast. Other organizers did not work well for me because the cut out didn’t let me use the whole space and it made me use more shelves

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Great idea! Thanks for letting us know what has worked best for you!

I have those shelves from our old house and I loved it because I was guilty of the double spices too! At my current house I use two spectrum wall mounted spice racks. Each one has 3 shelves that hold up to 6 bottles each and Target has the shelves for about $10 each. I know other ppl use them in their bathrooms too for organizing toiletries.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh awesome! Thanks for the helpful feedback on what has worked well in your kitchen, Jen V!

I made my own spice rack similar to this for $5. I bought some wood at Home Depot and cut it to fit in my cupboards in that same shape. I have two shelves devoted to spices and it’s so nice just opening the cupboard and easily see them.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

SWEET! I love creating new organizational spaces! Thanks for sharing with us, Justme!
