Awesome! Thanks again!
I love those chunky knit blankets but there are (potential) drawbacks. They tend to be very heavy for their size. I like a heavy, cozy blanket, but the weight of the blanket pulls the stitches (which aren’t all that tight to begin with), so you really want the smallest size that serves your needs. Finding that sweet spot can be tricky if you actually intend on using it. I am not a fan of small throws (What’s the point? If I’m cold, my whole body is cold) so I need foot-to-neck coverage. Their weight also can preclude laundering (and most throws and yarn of this size say they are not machine washable at all, though I have). This thick, chunky yarn fiber tends to shed and catch on everything, too. That said, my kids and I love mine. As heavy as it is, I don’t tend to get overheated using it. I suppose because the chunky knit breathes. I was surprised to find that it regulates my temperature very well while sleeping. They are also fast, easy, and affordable to make (if you are patient and watch sales). I made one for $64 plus tax that would cost somewhere between $148 and $199 on Amazon.
How neat! Thanks so much for your review, Erin! I haven’t purchased one yet, but they sure look cozy and pretty! Super glad you have been loving yours!
