What’s your favorite holiday dessert?

If the answer is cheesecake, we have good news and bad news. The bad news is that Kraft – the maker of Philadelphia Cream Cheese – is actually experiencing a cream cheese shortage, so it may be hard to get your hands on that vital cheesecake ingredient in time for the holidays.

But the good news is that you can actually get paid NOT to make it! That’s right, Kraft is paying up to 18,000 people $20 just to skip the cheesecake this year and make something else instead.

Due to higher demands for cream cheese over the last couple of years, it’s been difficult to keep shelves stocked with the popular ingredient – hence Kraft’s decision to ease the burden of those looking for alternative desserts!

If you want to help the cause & make another dessert on Kraft’s dime, here’s how to claim your $20:

  • On December 17th & 18th at 12PM EST, visit the Spread the Feeling website that Kraft has set up for the event.
  • Be one of the first to reserve a spot and claim a $20 reward.
  • Your reservation will be confirmed via a unique, single-use link. Once you receive the link, purchase any dessert. Your receipt needs to be dated between December 17th and 24th in order to qualify.
  • Starting on December 28th at 9AM EST and running through January 4th, 2022 at 11:59PM EST, you will be able to use your unique link to submit your dessert receipt for the chance to receive a $20 digital reward.

I feel like there’s a catch here because it just doesn’t make sense to me

    • Amichael0323

      For sure

      • Me

I agree. So you buy some dessert hoping they reimburse you and then there is some “catch”…..like the online payment you get can only be redeemed on things or at websites you don’t want to shop at, etc. I’m passing. Sounds shady.

        • tipaye

Agreed, too much hassle but a smart marketing ploy

So agree!! *Hey you either say nothing! *Admit a shortage and apologize. *Don’t try to pull one over on the consumer!! *Here is $20 buy a dessert @ the site of our choice As several have said Cheesy!!

    • Amy

There’s a cream cheese shortage so instead of listening to people complain they’re giving out things instead 🤷‍♀️

  3. Steph

    Stupid!

  4. Kathryn

All that for a “CHANCE” at $20?

    • Amber

That’s how I see it too… And I submit all types of rebates and do surveys and such.

I just bought last month a 5lb cream cheese tub from Costco and have been saving it for Christmas

  8. Kimmy

Well thats weird stores here doesn’t have a shortage and Kroger’s has it on sale for $1.00 guess we just got lucky😁

  9. Cindy Lou

Does this means Kraft makes all the cream cheese? (I doubt it) Because last weekend in my area, there was no cream cheese of any brand, and I looked at 2 stores! Interesting…

    • nin

Ditto, I went to two different Aldi’s to get plain cream cheese either brick or whipped in container and neither!

Also it says to come back for a “chance” to win $20 so I guess it’s not guaranteed anyway?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Yes. It seems this will be limited to up to 18,000 people. Good luck!

  11. Deb

I haven’t seen a shortage in my area

  12. lynnleco

I haven’t seen a cream cheese shortage in my area either!

Error Message Reminds me of the Chipotle epic fail promos! lol Great advertising though, Kraft. Let’s make folks THINK they need to rush out and buy cream cheese if their stores have it, whether or not they even need it. hahaha
