Here’s where our Hip team is shopping for clearance…
“I really don’t have the patience for store clearance and will just filter sales/deals online if I need something and want to try and get a good deal. That said, you can normally catch me at the Target Christmas clearance section. It’s the perfect time for me to stock up on pretty wrapping paper, ribbons, gift boxes, etc. that I would never pay full price for and then I know I’m all stocked up for the next year when it quickly rolls around.” – Sara
“KOHL’S!! I get to save big on brands that aren’t eligible for coupons for the boys like UA and Nike and adidas, AND I get to upgrade my wardrobe and get the styles I loved so much when they were full-price but on clearance! It’s not always packed full of out-of-season items either! And when they do the extra 50% off, deals are INSANE!!” – Jenna P
“Target is my fav store to shop for clearance home goods and holiday merch (Christmas & Halloween specifically). I only buy holiday merch when it goes on clearance. Followed by Books A Million! They always have tons of sale books (even newer ones), board games, toys, and giftable items perfect for even picky teens!“ – Liz
“I love checking out the clearance sections at nurseries. In most cases, some fresh soil, a little trim and a good feed/watering is all it takes to perk those plants right back up. And that means I can buy more. 😉🪴“ – Cass
“I have only ever shopped it online, but Walmart Clearance finds constantly blow my mind. I’ve gotten so many insane steals under $5 and $10 for great products. Entire outfits, shoes, bags, kitchen accessories, beauty, you name it.
Another one isn’t exactly a store, but a yearly find…the clearance beauty/skincare sets right after Christmas! (At Target, Walmart, Ulta, etc.) So many beauty sets are already amazing value and because they tend to have holiday packaging or Christmas themes, you can get the same great products/formulas for way less.“ – Monica
“Anthropologie clearance is my weakness. Specifically the in-store when it’s an additional half off. The candles and cute clothing are fantastic there. 🥰🥰🥰“ – Lina
“I’m with Lina on the Anthropologie clearance. I’ve bought $200-$300 dresses for $15. I shop it online and live for the extra 50% off. However, I need to take two of those dresses into the store to have the security tags removed so I can wear them somewhere besides the house! 🤣 I also love the clearance at Draper James, ASOS, and Walmart.“ – Cara
“I loooooooove Old Navy clearance!!! I seriously go and find the best deals! Most of the time I buy something for someone else because the price was so good (hello, $2.99 jeans!!)” – Alli
“You can frequently find me trolling the clearance sections at every store I visit, but I find particularly great deals at HomeGoods/TJ Maxx/Marshalls stores.” – Kelli
“I second (or third, or fourth 😉) the Target clearance—especially the after-Christmas clearance!
Probably seems strange, but I enjoy checking out the clearance at our Kroger store. It’s a “marketplace” store, so we have groceries, clothing, home goods, etc. Sometimes things are on clearance because they’re seasonal, packaging changes, store resets, etc. I always try to do a quick run-through of the area on a shopping trip to see if anything catches my eye. I don’t spend a lot of time digging through the items, though (but they have it pretty well organized that you don’t necessarily have to dig either!) I’ve found name-brand kids’ games for $1 or $2, kitchen organization items for a few dollars, and some pantry dry good items that still had 6+ months left on them that were seasonally packaged! 🙌 ” – Jessica T.
YES same as Jessica! I love DIP brand clothes LOL! And ours has had a lot of clearance lately. I put together a fantastic baby gift with clearance diapers, baby products, and a bumbo chair for like $20 the other day for one of my husband’s coworkers and the plant/flower clearance is always good at my store.” – Lina
We can’t wait to hear where you all are shopping for clearance steals!
Stay tuned for more Hip Birthday giveaway posts all week long! 🎉 Until then, let’s get back to the deals…
Kohl’s!!!
Oldnavy, hands down!
Walgreens! Sometimes you can get 90% off which is hard to beat!
Walmart clearance is the best especially right after a holiday. 🙂
Kohl’s
Target used to be my favorite because they would go to 90% off. They are still my favorite even though my store doesn’t go to 90% anymore, mainly because they have a clearly defined area for clearance in each section and the signs are easy to read. It’s also pretty well maintained and the clearance area isn’t junky like other stores.
Target and CVS. Quick and easy!
I love our grocery stores clearance section at Tops. I have to always check it. I have scored amazing deals there. Most recently was Cascade Power Wash tablets super cheap. It was about 80% off. I even got Dawn dish soap, the kind that pours from the bottom, for .30. Not only that, I also walk around every outer section of the store to score great markdowns on meats, produce, and dairy, even ice cream at times.
For me, it’s Kohl’s by far. I always swing through the clearance sections when I have additional percent-off coupons on my account. Easiest and best way to stock up on seasonal or holiday merchandise (so you’re ready for next year’s celebration) or to pick up an item or two for daily use (hand towels, throw rugs, etc.). I’m a clearance-section shopper at heart, and I’m grateful for all the opportunities from grocery stores to department stores to hardware stores. I know all the “secret” locations!
Kohls for clothes-extra 50% off great for kids stock up!
Target for toys
Hobby lobby for stuff I don’t need but love looking through for home decor and crafting
Target
Kohls for sure. When they have their 50% off clerance proces I am there. You get the 50% off name brand too. My kids don’t have to buy and school clothes for school after that trip and I am a sneaker hoarder after too. Best time to buy at kohls on clearance
Petco. Sometimes fine 50c. Food I can donate to my local shelter
I actually like Kroger clearance sections. I have gotten some stuff that was clearanced because there was no room on the shelf. Foodsaver machine for $35.00 when the same identical one was selling around $80.00. Walmart too occasionally has decent clearance section. Meijer too
My favorite place to cruise for bargains is Kroger, too! There’s one store that doesn’t seem to manage stock well so any overstock is marked down. Pro-tip: digital and physical coupons still apply! And don’t forget to check rebate apps like ibotta and Fetch for added savings!
target hand down, i remember the good old days when they let the clearance go 90% off, hip2save saved me so much money with the clearance updates!
where it says an editional percent off already clearanced items! exspecially under armour
Meijer clearance is my favorite! They often have an additional percentage off their clearance items.
Target used to be my go to for clearance, but it’s almost non-existent at my stores. Now I love hitting up Hobby Lobby, I can always find great clearance decor and toys for my granddaughters.
Sam’s Club clearance deals are the bomb. We will watch clothes go down to their lowest price.
I check the clearance section of every store I go too! Actually cannot choose a favorite 😂
H&M!
I love going through Target’s clearance!
Target!
Kohl’s when they do the extra 50%
I don’t get to Walgreens as often as I’d like to, but when I do go I love those orange tags!
Walgreens!!! But I also love dollar general extra 50% off sales!!
The grocery meat markdowns. I also love seeing what Kohls has.
Walgreens for sure, sometimes I can find items on clearance for a few cents!
Marshalls and TJ Maxx, their clearance on top of their already discounted prices rock
Definitely Walmart! Snagged a diapers for a bargain last night!
I will check out the clearance section at about any store I go to, but Kohls is my favorite. If you get it just right with the percent off plus coupons you can get some awesome deals.
Walmart and Walgreens for holiday deals.
It used to be Kohl’s but lately (maybe in the past 2-ish years) my local Kohls has been a huge disappointment! I would say Hobby Lobby has brought me the most amazing finds lately! I’m always checking clearance everywhere I go, though!
Right now, I’ve been having the best luck at pop shelf
Definitely Old Navy Clearance!
Walmart

My faves are woot (i check that daily), proozy, old navy, jd sports and gap factory outlet
Target is my favorite 🙂
I think Kohl’s clearance is amazing, when they have the additional 50% off!
Going, Going, Gone! Name brand sports gear for a couple of dollars… yes, please!
If I am in store, I love Target Clearance…. although lately, it has been harder to find at my store. I love Kohl’s Clearance online and lately Amazon Haul!
The clearance sales at 1/2 of 1/2 off are amazing! I score name brand clothing, new-with-tags at low, low prices. They have a special sale beginning every Friday. Although they are only in 7 midwestern states, their clearance tags make it worthwhile to stop in regularly.
Kohl’s when they have 50% off clearance. Then you can get discounts on name brands!!
When I lived near a Kroger, I loved their clearance aisle. I would score so many awesome foods and diapers for amazing prices. I check out Walmart’s clearance, which can be good sometimes. I’ve learned our HomeGoods discounts holiday items 50% off the day after the holiday — and then the prices go on a higher “clearance” price the next day.
Target has the best clearance deals! Great stuff, name brands, and I love their stuff! After holidays I get excited to stock up!
So many great clearance spots but I will say CVS after a holiday as I can get candy on sale, a stuffed animal for my dog, little extra treats for the hubby and kids.
Target and Kohl’s for me, although the Kohl’s deals haven’t been as good for a while
Walmart, because it has been so easy to find everything in one area!
Target’s clearance especially after the holidays!
Kohls, you can get some cheap stuff!
