Here’s where our Hip team is shopping for clearance…
“I really don’t have the patience for store clearance and will just filter sales/deals online if I need something and want to try and get a good deal. That said, you can normally catch me at the Target Christmas clearance section. It’s the perfect time for me to stock up on pretty wrapping paper, ribbons, gift boxes, etc. that I would never pay full price for and then I know I’m all stocked up for the next year when it quickly rolls around.” – Sara
“KOHL’S!! I get to save big on brands that aren’t eligible for coupons for the boys like UA and Nike and adidas, AND I get to upgrade my wardrobe and get the styles I loved so much when they were full-price but on clearance! It’s not always packed full of out-of-season items either! And when they do the extra 50% off, deals are INSANE!!” – Jenna P
“Target is my fav store to shop for clearance home goods and holiday merch (Christmas & Halloween specifically). I only buy holiday merch when it goes on clearance. Followed by Books A Million! They always have tons of sale books (even newer ones), board games, toys, and giftable items perfect for even picky teens!“ – Liz
“I love checking out the clearance sections at nurseries. In most cases, some fresh soil, a little trim and a good feed/watering is all it takes to perk those plants right back up. And that means I can buy more. 😉🪴“ – Cass
“I have only ever shopped it online, but Walmart Clearance finds constantly blow my mind. I’ve gotten so many insane steals under $5 and $10 for great products. Entire outfits, shoes, bags, kitchen accessories, beauty, you name it.
Another one isn’t exactly a store, but a yearly find…the clearance beauty/skincare sets right after Christmas! (At Target, Walmart, Ulta, etc.) So many beauty sets are already amazing value and because they tend to have holiday packaging or Christmas themes, you can get the same great products/formulas for way less.“ – Monica
“Anthropologie clearance is my weakness. Specifically the in-store when it’s an additional half off. The candles and cute clothing are fantastic there. 🥰🥰🥰“ – Lina
“I’m with Lina on the Anthropologie clearance. I’ve bought $200-$300 dresses for $15. I shop it online and live for the extra 50% off. However, I need to take two of those dresses into the store to have the security tags removed so I can wear them somewhere besides the house! 🤣 I also love the clearance at Draper James, ASOS, and Walmart.“ – Cara
“I loooooooove Old Navy clearance!!! I seriously go and find the best deals! Most of the time I buy something for someone else because the price was so good (hello, $2.99 jeans!!)” – Alli
“You can frequently find me trolling the clearance sections at every store I visit, but I find particularly great deals at HomeGoods/TJ Maxx/Marshalls stores.” – Kelli
“I second (or third, or fourth 😉) the Target clearance—especially the after-Christmas clearance!
Probably seems strange, but I enjoy checking out the clearance at our Kroger store. It’s a “marketplace” store, so we have groceries, clothing, home goods, etc. Sometimes things are on clearance because they’re seasonal, packaging changes, store resets, etc. I always try to do a quick run-through of the area on a shopping trip to see if anything catches my eye. I don’t spend a lot of time digging through the items, though (but they have it pretty well organized that you don’t necessarily have to dig either!) I’ve found name-brand kids’ games for $1 or $2, kitchen organization items for a few dollars, and some pantry dry good items that still had 6+ months left on them that were seasonally packaged! 🙌 ” – Jessica T.
YES same as Jessica! I love DIP brand clothes LOL! And ours has had a lot of clearance lately. I put together a fantastic baby gift with clearance diapers, baby products, and a bumbo chair for like $20 the other day for one of my husband’s coworkers and the plant/flower clearance is always good at my store.” – Lina
We can’t wait to hear where you all are shopping for clearance steals!
Stay tuned for more Hip Birthday giveaway posts all week long! 🎉 Until then, let’s get back to the deals…
Target—mostly on their “all in motion” brand for women, it’s always the 1st section I check out.
Kohl’s!
Meijer clearance is the best.
Hobby lobby
I like the clearance events at Dollar General. They are often a few days and items with specific color price tags are an extra 50% off. Makes it easy to figure out what is included. I have found cat food, toys, household needs, etc…
Marshall’s clearance is great because even the starting price was reasonable.
I live my Hallmark store for all kinds of seasonal and gift choices It’s the best.
Kohl’s when it’s an extra 50% off clearance and Walmart beauty section clearance when I catch the employees in the middle of marking everything down to $1!
Hobby Lobby or Dollar General – just depends what I am looking for. Meijer is pretty good too.
Target has a pretty good clearance section. I live in a very high populated area with several targets, but it can be challenging to find things sometimes. I have stocked up on sheets (when they had the ultra soft).
Khols. The area we live in is really hard to find clearance it sells out crazy fast. So hard to find deals after holidays.
Kohls! All day <3
Target is at the top of my list for clearance deals!!! While I haven’t had a lot of luck with finding great deals on Clearance items lately, I can’t make my way in and out of a Target store without at least checking for clearance items. I think most of my best clearance deal scores have come from Target and a part of me enjoys the adventure to hunt around the store to find the random endcaps with Clearance items.
Nordstrom Rack clearance racks have great bargains, and they offer flash sales on specific items throughout the week.
I love clearance shopping at Target. It feels like a treasure hunt each time. I shop clearance all year round for clothes for my daughter. School supplies clearance shopping is a win. I save tons of money and never run out of whats needed for tge year! I also love to clearance shop after holidays (Valentines, Christmas, Easter, etc) to save for the following year.
Aldi! I have seen stuff for only 19 cents.
I love Lowe’s Plant Clearance section. I find plants that I would never consider purchasing.
I clearance shop EVERYWHERE I go. Be it Ross, TJ Maxx, Marshall’s, Target, Walmart, etc. But my all time favorite section is my HEB (TX grocery store) clearance section. I have gotten lucky and found great clearance on shelf-stable foods, detergent, even meat/chicken/cheeses. Can’t beat get sale prices on your everyday grocery purchase.
A store such as Grocery Outlet brings the clearance to me!
Hobby lobby has fun stuff for kids-crafts little toys on clearance frequently and old navy kids clothes!
Love a good Walgreens clearance! Especially after a holiday
Kroger stores in my area have some amazing clearance sections. I always check!
my local Safeway! Everything from seasonal to makeup to groceries we really use!
I’ve gotten some great deals on Walgreens clearance–everything from Lego sets to holiday candy to beauty supplies! It’s even better when they ship for free to my door!
I find that most Fred Meyer stores have a good clearance section, finding food marked down as is finding different allergy products- some really good discounts
Nike Outlet has the best clearance.
Even better when it’s additional off!
Target used to be sooooo good! I remember spending close to $1,000 on Christmas clearance one year (retail was over $10,000); all on stuff that was 90% off! Now, you’re lucky to find anything good before it hits 70% off. There’s usually nothing left by the time it hits 90.
I love Hobby Lobby clearance, though I am often disappointed when they leave things on the shelf that are clearly broken beyond repair.
I also love Kohl’s clearance, especially when it’s an extra 50% off. I’ve gotten soooo many dresses for myself for less than $10.00 each during those times. They’re well-made and beautiful, so super worth it for that price!
Walmart has the best clearance. I have found home items, clothes, and toys.
Target would be my 1st choice and then Lowes Home Improvements “Back Aisle” is a close 2nd. Although I should swap them, I go to Lowes more!
Target and Old Navy!
Walgreens! especially after a holiday!
Homegoods clearance is awesome, I love coffee and they usually have ton of marked down sugar free coffee syrups so I can make special coffees at home. Saves me $$.
Currently my favorite is Ace Hardware as they have spring plants half price!
Target. I have purchased many discounted items over the years!
I’m disappointed that so many stores great clearance is kind of disappearing, but I, like another person, enjoy rescuing those plants that Walmart. etc. didn’t tend to very well. At 75% off, I bring them home, clip a bit, water, and place in some sunshine, and before I know it, it’s beautiful! Thanks, Hip2Save!
kroger has some great clearance markdowns
I love JCPenny clearance deals! You have to have time to sort throught the racks, but usually there are some good prices to be found.
I believe that Target has the best clearance options!
Hobby Lobby has the best after the holidays clearance. My favorite kitchen towels came from Hobby Lobby’s after summer clearance.
Walmart after the holidays.hobby lobby 90%spring sale
My favorite store to shop for deals and clearance is Walmart. I love to shop online – especially when dealing with insomnia at night! 🙂 It’s easy to narrow your search for a certain price, and multiple times I have found unbelievable deals on anything from candles to home decor, clothing and everything in between. I typically look for items to gift for birthdays, Christmas, etc. You never know what you’ll find and the thrill of the hunt for deals can be fun!
I like Smith’s clearance sections the best!
A lot of stores I can find the clearance section immediately but Target is pretty good and a local grocery chain by me called Giant Eagle does as well!
Kohls, when they have an extra 50% off already reduced clearance!
Walgreens is a hidden gem with great clearance with their high end/name brand products
Maurice’s has the best clearance for women’s clothing, they have it at back of their store. I always find the best deals and sizes. And f you have a charge card with them you get another 10 percent of your purchase.
Kohls . with extra 50% off!
I’m gonna echo those saying Target for Christmas clearance. I’ve gotten some great deals on everyday stuff like beauty gifts. I just wish they still had furniture in that 90% off sale!
Target ist my favorite place to find the best clearance deals.
My favorite clearance to shop is whichever store has the best! Target used to be fantastic, especially when they overbought for the holidays. They’ve corrected and I no longer have littles, so I’ve gotten away from Target. My Walmart and Kroger just remodeled, so they’ve had great clearance. Think .50 packs of Swedish dishcloths, 66-quart Rubbermaid totes for $3, $5 packs of mens boxer briefs, $20 SodaStreams. I’ve replaced around 20 ugly cabinet knobs in three bathrooms for less than $10 (IYKYK). You also have to know which specific location to shop: not all stores in a specific chain are created equal. Two Krogers a couple miles apart have vastly different markdown strategies. One never marks down plants and still has expensive Easter candy clearanced for more than it rang up for a week after Easter; the other marks plants in good shape very low and has good clearance prices overall. You have to have a feel for individual stores now.
