Here’s where our Hip team is shopping for clearance…
“I really don’t have the patience for store clearance and will just filter sales/deals online if I need something and want to try and get a good deal. That said, you can normally catch me at the Target Christmas clearance section. It’s the perfect time for me to stock up on pretty wrapping paper, ribbons, gift boxes, etc. that I would never pay full price for and then I know I’m all stocked up for the next year when it quickly rolls around.” – Sara
“KOHL’S!! I get to save big on brands that aren’t eligible for coupons for the boys like UA and Nike and adidas, AND I get to upgrade my wardrobe and get the styles I loved so much when they were full-price but on clearance! It’s not always packed full of out-of-season items either! And when they do the extra 50% off, deals are INSANE!!” – Jenna P
“Target is my fav store to shop for clearance home goods and holiday merch (Christmas & Halloween specifically). I only buy holiday merch when it goes on clearance. Followed by Books A Million! They always have tons of sale books (even newer ones), board games, toys, and giftable items perfect for even picky teens!“ – Liz
“I love checking out the clearance sections at nurseries. In most cases, some fresh soil, a little trim and a good feed/watering is all it takes to perk those plants right back up. And that means I can buy more. 😉🪴“ – Cass
“I have only ever shopped it online, but Walmart Clearance finds constantly blow my mind. I’ve gotten so many insane steals under $5 and $10 for great products. Entire outfits, shoes, bags, kitchen accessories, beauty, you name it.
Another one isn’t exactly a store, but a yearly find…the clearance beauty/skincare sets right after Christmas! (At Target, Walmart, Ulta, etc.) So many beauty sets are already amazing value and because they tend to have holiday packaging or Christmas themes, you can get the same great products/formulas for way less.“ – Monica
“Anthropologie clearance is my weakness. Specifically the in-store when it’s an additional half off. The candles and cute clothing are fantastic there. 🥰🥰🥰“ – Lina
“I’m with Lina on the Anthropologie clearance. I’ve bought $200-$300 dresses for $15. I shop it online and live for the extra 50% off. However, I need to take two of those dresses into the store to have the security tags removed so I can wear them somewhere besides the house! 🤣 I also love the clearance at Draper James, ASOS, and Walmart.“ – Cara
“I loooooooove Old Navy clearance!!! I seriously go and find the best deals! Most of the time I buy something for someone else because the price was so good (hello, $2.99 jeans!!)” – Alli
“You can frequently find me trolling the clearance sections at every store I visit, but I find particularly great deals at HomeGoods/TJ Maxx/Marshalls stores.” – Kelli
“I second (or third, or fourth 😉) the Target clearance—especially the after-Christmas clearance!
Probably seems strange, but I enjoy checking out the clearance at our Kroger store. It’s a “marketplace” store, so we have groceries, clothing, home goods, etc. Sometimes things are on clearance because they’re seasonal, packaging changes, store resets, etc. I always try to do a quick run-through of the area on a shopping trip to see if anything catches my eye. I don’t spend a lot of time digging through the items, though (but they have it pretty well organized that you don’t necessarily have to dig either!) I’ve found name-brand kids’ games for $1 or $2, kitchen organization items for a few dollars, and some pantry dry good items that still had 6+ months left on them that were seasonally packaged! 🙌 ” – Jessica T.
YES same as Jessica! I love DIP brand clothes LOL! And ours has had a lot of clearance lately. I put together a fantastic baby gift with clearance diapers, baby products, and a bumbo chair for like $20 the other day for one of my husband’s coworkers and the plant/flower clearance is always good at my store.” – Lina
We can’t wait to hear where you all are shopping for clearance steals!
Stay tuned for more Hip Birthday giveaway posts all week long! 🎉 Until then, let’s get back to the deals…
Walmart and Kohl’s for clothing.
Love Kohl’s clearance section
I love to check the clearance section at DSW. When the tag is yellow, the prices are reduced to 80% off the original pricing. Such great buys sometimes! Leather totes, shoes, socks, miscellaneous accessories…. All first quality materials and way reduced.
Carters, 32 degrees, Dillards ♥️
I have the most fun shopping clearance at Kohls.
When Kohl’s has additional 50% off clearance, it’s time to stock up!
Kohls is usually may favorite place to score good clearance deals!
Walmart has pretty good clearance items if you look. And sometimes Dollar General does too. I would say they are my favs because of how low I can get things for.
Definitely Target! I love it. Especially when it gets to 90% off!!
Kohls is usually great, and Walmart the day after Christmas!
I’m not a big clearance shopper in general, but DSW is the exception – their clearance area is the first place I head when I’m in the store. And believe it or not, I love CVS’s holiday clearance aisle after Easter and Christmas.
Kohl’s Walmart and Smith’s produce section for freezer prepping vegetables.
I like to shop Target’s after holiday clearance.
Target for after holidays clearance shopping.
Target definitely has the best clearance. Sometimes I’ll go in there on a random Tuesday or Wednesday and have found some amazing deals. Like toys, craft supplies, or homewares for 70% to 90% off!
Fred Meyer (Kroger) has a great food clearance section.
old navy
Von Maur
I love Target clearance!
I love shopping the clearance racks at Bealls, I’ ve got some great deals for my grandkids, my mother and myself. I am in FL, by the way.
Kohls and Target are my two favorite stores for good deals.
I love the clearance section at a local plant stand–everything is a dollar!
Target year round; Home goods is also a win
It’s been awhile since I’ve been because we don’t have one close to us, but I love JCPenny clearance because it seems like it’s always cheaper than tagged when you check out so it’s an extra happy bonus 😊
I’m amazed at the deals I find in the clearance section at my closest-to-me Kroger store (Ralphs here in Cali). It’s within walking distance so I walk there and found non-food bargains like Squashmallow sets, huge toilet paper packages (yes I walked home with them!) and Energizer batteries (with 10 year exp dates). They have good food bargains too with store and name brands, so I try to walk there often.
Hands down, Walmart. Especially amazing deals on clothing. Reebok t-shirt for $3?!? Doesn’t get much better than that!
dick’s sporting goods!
walmart when you follow the hidden clearance blogs
kohl’s or target. It’s easy to identify what’s on clearance and many times it’s good stuff!
I enjoy Target’s clearance because of the variety of items I can find.
Walmart! You have to hit it at the right time- but some great deals to be had!
Walmart is pretty good and I love the fact that if it goes out of stock, it comes back in stock at that clearance price instead of regular price. Hobby Lobby is my go to for Christmas clearance!
Walmart, Target, Academy
I love shopping Smiths Clearance. Grocery clearance is the best.
Walmart $1 clearance! You have to go in store and catch them. I’ve found pj’s, sunglasses, full packs of underwear, workout clothes. It is a huge blessing to find new items that I can actually afford.
Barnes and Noble’s clearance can be a gem for toy deals- on a good day!
-TJ Maxx has the best clearance. And they do it often so every time I go browsing there’s always a fun shelf or too worth carefully looking over. I’ve found much higher priced Korean beauty items for 90% off retail, and sometimes score a blouse or piece of workout wear too.
I love Amazon clearance! It has been a huge blessing to me as most items I have purchased have been in excellent condition! Plus who doesn’t love front door deliveries?
I think Kohl’s is great for clothing. Walmart for after holiday.
I love Ulta’s yellow tag 90% off clearance. I have found brands that I want to try but were too expensive and lots of things to donate. Kohl’s can have great buys when there is 50% off clearance and Kohl’s Cash. You have to really know your prices, because they manipulate the prices daily. I have found good clearance clothing at Walmart from time to time too. Nordstrom Rack used to be my go to on line at Clear The Rack sale time for an extra 25%-40% off red tags, but everything is final sale now
Kohl’s for clothing and Target for other items.
32 Degrees clothing site
It is hard to pick one, so I will just go with items from my “gift closet” that come from multiple stores.
Walmart clearance
Target
I love academy sports because I have all boys in my family. We have scored some major discounts from there on name brand clothing
Hallmark when it gets to 90% off after the holidays. Have grabbed a lot of amazing deals from there.
Love shopping at the Dillars Clearance store.
Also Academy has a good clearance section
Hobby Lobby has the best clearance in my area. We also have an Under Armour Outlet and their items are heavily discounted.
Target is great for clearance
