Here’s where our Hip team is shopping for clearance…
“I really don’t have the patience for store clearance and will just filter sales/deals online if I need something and want to try and get a good deal. That said, you can normally catch me at the Target Christmas clearance section. It’s the perfect time for me to stock up on pretty wrapping paper, ribbons, gift boxes, etc. that I would never pay full price for and then I know I’m all stocked up for the next year when it quickly rolls around.” – Sara
“KOHL’S!! I get to save big on brands that aren’t eligible for coupons for the boys like UA and Nike and adidas, AND I get to upgrade my wardrobe and get the styles I loved so much when they were full-price but on clearance! It’s not always packed full of out-of-season items either! And when they do the extra 50% off, deals are INSANE!!” – Jenna P
“Target is my fav store to shop for clearance home goods and holiday merch (Christmas & Halloween specifically). I only buy holiday merch when it goes on clearance. Followed by Books A Million! They always have tons of sale books (even newer ones), board games, toys, and giftable items perfect for even picky teens!“ – Liz
“I love checking out the clearance sections at nurseries. In most cases, some fresh soil, a little trim and a good feed/watering is all it takes to perk those plants right back up. And that means I can buy more. 😉🪴“ – Cass
“I have only ever shopped it online, but Walmart Clearance finds constantly blow my mind. I’ve gotten so many insane steals under $5 and $10 for great products. Entire outfits, shoes, bags, kitchen accessories, beauty, you name it.
Another one isn’t exactly a store, but a yearly find…the clearance beauty/skincare sets right after Christmas! (At Target, Walmart, Ulta, etc.) So many beauty sets are already amazing value and because they tend to have holiday packaging or Christmas themes, you can get the same great products/formulas for way less.“ – Monica
“Anthropologie clearance is my weakness. Specifically the in-store when it’s an additional half off. The candles and cute clothing are fantastic there. 🥰🥰🥰“ – Lina
“I’m with Lina on the Anthropologie clearance. I’ve bought $200-$300 dresses for $15. I shop it online and live for the extra 50% off. However, I need to take two of those dresses into the store to have the security tags removed so I can wear them somewhere besides the house! 🤣 I also love the clearance at Draper James, ASOS, and Walmart.“ – Cara
“I loooooooove Old Navy clearance!!! I seriously go and find the best deals! Most of the time I buy something for someone else because the price was so good (hello, $2.99 jeans!!)” – Alli
“You can frequently find me trolling the clearance sections at every store I visit, but I find particularly great deals at HomeGoods/TJ Maxx/Marshalls stores.” – Kelli
“I second (or third, or fourth 😉) the Target clearance—especially the after-Christmas clearance!
Probably seems strange, but I enjoy checking out the clearance at our Kroger store. It’s a “marketplace” store, so we have groceries, clothing, home goods, etc. Sometimes things are on clearance because they’re seasonal, packaging changes, store resets, etc. I always try to do a quick run-through of the area on a shopping trip to see if anything catches my eye. I don’t spend a lot of time digging through the items, though (but they have it pretty well organized that you don’t necessarily have to dig either!) I’ve found name-brand kids’ games for $1 or $2, kitchen organization items for a few dollars, and some pantry dry good items that still had 6+ months left on them that were seasonally packaged! 🙌 ” – Jessica T.
YES same as Jessica! I love DIP brand clothes LOL! And ours has had a lot of clearance lately. I put together a fantastic baby gift with clearance diapers, baby products, and a bumbo chair for like $20 the other day for one of my husband’s coworkers and the plant/flower clearance is always good at my store.” – Lina
We can’t wait to hear where you all are shopping for clearance steals!
Stay tuned for more Hip Birthday giveaway posts all week long! 🎉 Until then, let’s get back to the deals…
Kohls summer deals are crazy
Aldi has to be my favorite for markdowns. Markdowns on top of their already low prices are amazing!
Kohls..deals on top of deals
Bath and body works!
Kohls, especially when you they advertise 50 percent off the lowest clearance price.
I favorite store clearance is JCPenney. Just recently I purchased 2 cute winter sweaters that were $5 each, but I spent zero dollars as I had earned a $10 reward. Thats my kind of shopping.
Ulta
I love buying clearance plants at Lowe’s.
Kohls is amazing when they have clearance. I have found Nike leggings at 20.00 and then they will do 50% off clearance so I got them for $10!!!
I always check the clearance end caps at Target!
Bath and body works has the best clearance.
Target after Christmas
Lowes marked down flowers are the best!
Academy bonus sale days
Walmart & Kohls. My daughter basically got an entirely new wardrobe from Walmart clearance – and we found a Little Tikes Turtle Sandbox marked down to $15!!!
Kohl’s
I have two favorites. Target and Fred Myers. I’ve picked up so many great Bday and Christmas gifts. I also buy lots of school supplies on clearance to donate to my hometown school.
Target
Fred Myer, I have gotten some of the best hidden gems in the toy section for 90% off!
Children’s Place! I love that I can stock up on clothes for the school year! $2 t-shirts are a steal!
I love the clearance sections at Walmart, Target, and Michael’s. Every trip to Walmart I make I head to the clearance section. I love searching through end caps at Target for random clearance stuff. At Michael’s, the clearance section is the only part of the store I can afford so I mainly just check that out and then leave. I will scour the store on the rare occasion that I have a 30% off coupon.
I think Kohl’s half off clearance prices are the best!
Kroger actually has great clearance sales right after the holidays, but the stores I visit usually sell out of the nonperishable that can be saved until the next season (e.g. stocking stuffers and Easter egg fillers) pretty quickly.
JCPenney when they do their $5 clearance. You can get some really nice clothes for cheap!
JCPenny
Hobby Lobby has THE BEST clearance sections. I always find something there.
I love dollar general clearance and Walmart as well. If I am in a bigger city I love to stop at tjmaxx, Ross, etc
I just am a sucker for anything clearance that’s soemthing I’ll use plus it’s such a rush!
Walmart
Nothing beats the Kohls 50% off clearance sales. I usually run around to all the local Kohls scooping up the kids clothes and sneakers. So much of it is name brand too! I’ve saved so much money buying after season for the following year. Pop it in a plastic tub, store it in the attic and it’s always a surprise when the next year rolls around.
T J Maxx and Marshall’s yellow tags.
Target (the end caps)
TJ Maxx always has great markdowns!
Because most of my budget goes to groceries. I have to say Kroger! Saturday morning seemed to be the best luck for me to find the clearance section stocked with treasures!
I think I find the best clearance deals at Burlington Coat Factory – I especially love the home decor clearance and JCPenney is great for clothing clearance.
Absolutely love kohl’s clearance, especially when I’ve got 40% coupon code:)
My favorite clearance find is Marshalls. They not only have great wordrobe pieces, but the value goes up when it goes on clearance. I always browse the regular and clearance rack to find a new top to add to my professional work from home (on video) job.
Kohls
Kohls toy clearance. You can get Barbie’s, Lego, and mini brands for less.
It’s a toss up. I really like the holiday clearance at Target, especially Christmas, but I also have been able to find great clearance finds at my local Savemart.
JC Penney and Walmart.
Home sense check the clearance on gift bags wrapping paper! Better quality and cheaper than dollar tree!
I like filtering online deals because it is sometimes same as the store deal but otherwise I search clearance at Kohl’s or Target
I always check the markdowns at Kroger. Find stuff there pretty much every week.
I always check the nursery plant clearance racks at Lowes.
TJMaxx has some great clearance finds.
In my experience, clearance prices aren’t that low anymore, lucky if they’re half-price! 🫤
Kohls almost always has good stuff on clearance!
Walmart has good clearance every so often.
Walmart for the win, always finding things cheap there , toys clothing , especially for kids, bathroom items even food products
Sprouts! Our local store will mark things that need to move down crazy cheap, like $2/lb lunch meat or 29c/lb apples. I always start there and build our menu for the next few days around what’s on sale.
