Christmas Tree Shops (CTS) Closing All Remaining Stores – Extra 50% Off Liquidation Sales Start Now!
Christmas Tree Shops recently renamed itself CTS so shoppers would know they were open year-round and selling more than just Christmas merchandise. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to avoid bankruptcy. In May, CTS announced that it filed for Chapter 11 of the US Bankruptcy Code.
CTS had originally hoped to close a few underperforming stores while keeping the rest open. However, as The Wall Street Journal reported, CTS defaulted on its loan of $45 million which was used to keep those stores in operation. An attorney for the company said that sales in those stores began to decline because they weren’t able to keep merchandise in stock. Customers ended up buying fewer items as a result, and revenues declined.
Christmas Tree Shops hoped a buyer might come forward to save the remaining stores; however, that has not happened, and now Going Out of Business sales have started. You can expect to see an extra 50% off the lowest ticketed price of Christmas and holiday items, and up to 50% off the lowest ticketed price of the remaining home goods, furniture, gifts, and more. They expect all all locations to be closed before the end of August. Check the list of CTS locations to find one near you.

so sad we always like the And that! stores.
I’ve enjoyed shopping at this one too. π I’ll have to head in and browse their items once more before they close!
So sad. Christmas Tree Shops are my favorite store. I make my husband take me every year on my birthday, because who can say no to you on your birthday! I love the selection, but i have noticed that they have empty shelves, so not enough inventory to fill the shelves.
Aww, Thanks for sharing your yearly tradition with us, Kim. Good to know what your store has looked like recently. I haven’t been in mine for a bit, but hope to plan a trip real soon before they are closed! π€π
Can you still use CTS gift cards there? Or has another company taken over the liquidation sale?
Great question, Cami! I’m not finding any information on this. I would suggest calling your location to see how they might honor any gift cards you have. π
You have until JULY 21st, TO USE YOUR GIFT CARDS or STORE CREDIT . Everything is a final sale and no special orders either, so thatβs something to keep in mind.
Thanks a ton for the helpful response, S! π€ π

Oh bummer! SO sorry for the troubles. It seems they do not sell items online. I did find that noted on their customer service page. Maybe check the confirmation email for any contact information on the site you ordered from. Hoping this helps. β€οΈ
