Hershey Announces Price Hike—But Halloween Candy Is Safe (For Now)
The Hershey Company recently confirmed that it plans to raise U.S. retail prices this fall—expect smaller pack sizes or higher prices on some candies.
Hershey says prices will rise by low double-digit percentages, blaming cocoa costs that have doubled due to poor weather and crop disease.
“This change is not related to tariffs or trade policies. It reflects the reality of rising ingredient costs, including the unprecedented cost of cocoa,” Hershey said in a statement obtained by the Associated Press.
With the price of nearly everything climbing these days, this news is hardly surprising. But it’s still hitting us hard in the sweet tooth.
One small silver lining is that Hershey has confirmed it will not raise the price of products specifically packaged for Halloween this year. This may be of little comfort to Hip shoppers, though, who know that those specially packaged holiday-themed candies are often overpriced to begin with. 😒

Yipes …. I will still be feeding cravings.. maybe just not as often
I don’t typically buy Hershey so not to upset. I usually buy German chocolate at Aldi or Walmart.
Curbing my cravings.
Haven’t given out chocolate for Halloween for 3 years because of the price. Guess the kiddies won’t be getting it again this year.
I feel all the candy (chocolate specifically) makers have raised their prices over the last two years. There was a jump in price during covid and then it just kept going up, from my experience. When we go to the store to buy candy my husband and I both have commented that prices have gone up again. I mean, it doesn’t stop us…LOL We have priorities. 😉
