NEW Laundry Detergent Recall Includes Several Popular Brands (Here’s How to Get Compensation!)
Procter & Gamble just recalled laundry detergent packets from several well-known brands. Here’s what to do if you bought some!
Procter & Gamble just announced a major recall that impacts some of their most popular laundry detergent brands like Tide, Gain, Ace, and Ariel.
This voluntary recall was issued because the product packets had a defective seal and may not close properly. This can result in the product leaking out onto your floor or countertops, posing a risk to children, pets, and other vulnerable family members. Contact with this product can result in irritation to the skin and eyes, and ingesting a large amount may even result in death for those with underlying health issues.
Though no cases have been reported that are directly related to the defective packaging, 3 reports were made of children ingesting liquid detergent stored in packets. For your safety, It is best to heed this warning.
If you bought any of the recalled products, Procter & Gamble wants to make it right. They are offering customers a prepaid debit card for the amount of the product, a replacement bag with proper seal, and a cabinet lock to keep your laundry supplies extra secure.
Which products are involved in the Procter & Gamble laundry packet recall?
The recall impacts 8.2 million units of liquid laundry detergent packets that were packaged in film bags. P & G manufactured them between September 2023 and February 2024 . The products contain between 12 to 39 laundry detergent packets each.
The recalled products include:
- Gain Flings Original
- Gain Flings Moonlight Breeze Scent
- Gain Flings Blissful Breeze Scent
- Gain Flings Spring Daydream Scent
- Gain Flings Plus Ultra Oxi
- Gain Flings Plus Odor Defense
- Tide Pod Originals
- Tide Pods Spring Meadow Scent
- Tide Pods Light
- Tide Simply Pods Plus Oxi Boost
- Tide Pods Clean Breeze Scent
- Tide Pods Free & Gentle
- Tide Pods Oxi
- Tide Pods Ultra Oxi
- Ace Pods Clean Breeze
- Ace Pods Spring Meadow
- Ariel Pods Alpine Breeze
Major stores nationwide sold these items. Some stores include CVS, Family Dollar, Home Depot, Target, Sam’s Club, Walmart, and Big Lots. Amazon.com and other websites also sold them. The products cost between $5 – $30 depending on the quantity.
To see if your detergent is part of this recall, look for the lot code on the bottom of your product. Check it against the full list of the lot codes that are part of the recall.
How to get compensation for your recalled laundry detergent packet.
Follow these easy steps:
- Take a picture of the barcode and lot number found on your recalled package.
- Move your detergent to a child-proof container. If you don’t have one, Proctor & Gamble will supply you with one.
- Head to the recall website and click on the brand you bought.
- Follow the instructions to submit your form & photos.
