Revlon One Step Volumizer Plus Hair Dryer Brush Just $24.44 on Walmart.com (Reg. $59)
Curious about the new Revlon One-Step Volumizer Plus Hair Dryer Brush and how it measures up to the original?! I’m sharing all the deets and the best price!
Just when you thought your hair dryer brush combo couldn’t get any better, it did!
The original Revlon volumizer was a hair game changer for tons of people, including me, when it first became popular. The idea that you could achieve an effortless salon blowout in less time while also adding lots of volume AND right at home sort of blew my mind!
I have thick hair with a frizzier texture, and having one of these tools to straighten and smooth my hair is fantastic. I have told many friends and family about it and even shared a review about it previously.
I love when brands listen to feedback and make changes accordingly. 👏 It sounds like this is just what’s happening here! I tested out the new version and highlighted some main differences between the original Revlon styler vs. the new 2.0 version. In case you haven’t jumped on the Revlon volumizer bandwagon yet, you’ll know this new one is another available option!
Best of all, the Revlon One Step Volumizer Plus Hair Dryer Brush 2.0 in Pink is currently on sale on Walmart.com for only $24.44 (regularly $58.88)!
Important note: In case you are wondering, this is not a sponsored review but rather a fun and informative post on a popular new product!
Here are the improvements made to the new Revlon One-Step Volumizer PLUS 2.0:
- The Plus 2.0 now has a detachable design that comes apart into two pieces for easier storage when traveling. The slimmer handle (pictured above on the bottom) also makes the dryer brush easier to hold.
- The barrel of the Plus 2.0 brush is smaller at 2.4 inches vs 2.8 inches on the 1.0 version. Since I have shorter hair, I noticed it was easier for me to use the smaller barrel and less cumbersome. I can get closer to the root of my hair for more volume.
- They added an additional MEDIUM heat setting to the Plus 2.0! It now has a low, medium, high, and cool setting to avoid overdrying your hair.
- The new Plus 2.0 version is now made with ceramic titanium technology vs. ceramic ionic technology. Titanium tourmaline helps reduce & protect against heat damage.
You can also find the new Revlon One-Step Plus Volumizer in various colors at these retailers:
- Amazon – from $34.49 shipped
- Target.com $44.99 shipped
- Ulta.com $74.99 shipped
Consider these two additional tips when using any dryer brush like this.
To avoid damaging your hair, you’ll want to include a heat protectant spray first! I love the Drybar Prep Rally primer spray. It’s very lightweight and helps create smooth hair while protecting it from heat. For a drug store option, my daughter likes this Garnier Fructis heat protectant mist with similar results at a lower price point.
Another tip is to towel dry wet hair first and let your hair air dry somewhat before using a blow dryer brush. This way you use the blow dryer brush for less time overall and basically use it to finish your style. I try to only wash and dry my hair a few times per week and think that helps it stay healthier, too!
If it wasn’t obvious, I am really impressed with these improvements!
For me, the medium heat setting and smaller barrel are fantastic. Overall, the Revlon One-Step Volumizer Plus definitely gets my stamp of approval and makes me excited to use it. After testing this tool a few times, I’ve decided it does a great job on my hair and is comfortable to use.
The result is a consistently smooth blow-dry with shiny volume. Although it’s priced higher than the original version, definitely consider it if it’s in your budget!

Can you tell me how heavy it is? My mom canβt really do her hair anymore since sheβs lost so much strength in her arms. The original one was too heavy. Thanks
Hi Sam! It looks like the original’s weight description is 1.7 pounds, and this 2.0 version says 1.63 pounds. Hope this was helpful! π
Have your mom look into a βhands free blow dryer mount (or stand)β there are several different styles. Itβll hold her traditional blow dryer while she brushes and turns her body. I have RA so I understand the struggle.
Does anyone use this that also has curly hair? Curious how it works for you!
I have super curly hair and I love this brush!!
Is the updated version as loud as the older model? I have to use earplugs while I use it, or my ears are ringing for a good 5 minutes afterwards.
Ohhh thatβs an intetesting question! I will have to check side by side, but thinking it was very similar or the same.
I have the first model (I LOVE all me heart) so Iβm over the moon excited for the updates on this one! I just put my order in ππ½ Scored the 10$ off code on HSN after updating my info with an agent over chat. They let me use it even tho I havenβt used my account in over 3 yrs! Thanks HSN! Thanks H2S!! πββοΈ
Oh yay Melony!! That is exciting!! Let us know what you think!
My old one started having a burning smell every time I used it so I got this new one based on your recommendation. It was much easier to travel with since it comes apart. The only flaw I noticed is that as you are turning it, you have to be careful that your hand is not turning the settings dial. Otherwise, I love it!
We love hearing that you are loving your new hair dryer brush, Christine M. Thanks for the helpful tip. If that’s the only drawback, we’ll take it!
Have the original and love it. I let my hair air dry for about five minutes before using it. Also make sure to use some type of hair protectant first. My hair always looks like I came from a salon whenever I use it. Highly recommend this! π
Thanks for sharing Bunny!
Just purchased the revlon style, curl, & volumize hot air kit for 13 yr old daughter. Looks similar. She is so disappointed. I think she saw it on tik tok or somewhere and said people showed it works. Does NOT work. All gimmick. Returning. If you want to curl your hair, use a curling iron or flat iron. She tried with dry and damp hair. No go. Scam.
Oh no, I am so sorry she didn’t like it. I have loved mine for the past couple years I have had it. It doesn’t really curl my hair, but it dries so quickly and gives me a lot more body.
My Kohls Carrieβs these and I was able to get one for $15 with 40% and kohls cash- just fyi if you are looking for a better dealπ Also- while it works great, I wasnβt able to tolerate the vibration from the brush- made my head feel funny for awhile afterπ
Also Marshallβs and tjmax regularly have these for $19.99:)
Awesome! Thanks for letting us know where you were able to spot this hair tool and what you thought about it, LeeF! π
I think when I seen one at Marshallβs it was the original one
Does anyone know if the detached brush can be cleaned with soap and water? I have 2 of the original ones but my only complaint is that I cannot clean the brushes. I have product buildup on them. Thanks in advance.
FYI I contacted customer service with this question and will update when they answer π Great question Laura!
Thank you Lina!!
Thanks. I bought the original dryer and it was delivered today, but I wanted the newer model. I had a 40% off coupon offer at Amazon, so I got it for $18!!
Oh wow! You’re so welcome! Thank YOU for sharing the deal you scored! I’m not seeing that coupon now. DARN! πβ€οΈ
Thanks for the tip! I usually subscribe and save through my main account but on your recommendation I switched to the the other adult account on our Amazon household and it had the 40% coupon! Now to decide if I keep it for myself or gift it π€.
Iβm glad you were able to score the same deal! (Keep it)!
I may be in the minority here, but I have the original and was super excited to get the the updated one, and I did.
However, I keep going back and using my ORIGINAL one. For some reason it just seems to do my hair a bit better! π
Really?! Hmm interesting. Thanks for adding the feedback Keisha!
I have both. The first one got too hot and so it was very damaging to my hair. I use other heat tools on the lowest heat setting. I was interested in the fact that this had multiple settings so I gave it another go. The lowest setting does nothing for me. The new one has different bristles. If I could take a picture and show it I really would. Those bristles get damaged quick. As a result my hair is being pulled out. So much hair ends up in the device after one use. Disappointed again. Glad it works for others though. Maybe it’s just meant for short hair. I have long (mid-back) naturally 2B hair.
SO sorry they were damaging to your hair, Ivy. Thanks for the honest review. β€οΈ We sure appreciate it.
I actually bought the original when you posted the deal around Thanksgiving and I gotta say I really like it. I have fine straight hair and I don’t brush it before I use it and my hair comes out soft, straight and no bends unlike when I just use hair dryer.
Yay! Happy it has worked so well on your hair, Les! ππ
I bought one of the 2.0’s for my step-daughter for Christmas. She loved it so much, I just ordered one for myself and my daughter. The 2.0 is cheaper for me, according to the website so I went with it too.
So glad to hear how well your step-daughter enjoys this hair dryer brush, Gina! Glad you were able to score a few more on sale! β€οΈ
tried to place my order for the item 19.44 new price is
34.88 it changed while I was ordering
Darn! Thanks for letting us know the price you’re seeing on the original version posted here, Barbara! I’ve added a note to the post. π
Everyone in my family loves this! Thanks for the review on the new version. I left my original in a hotel room last month and need to buy another one. It saves me so much time getting ready. I let my hair air dry while eating breakfast and getting dressed, then dry/style so much quicker than without it. My son says it is great for styling beards too π€£.
You’re welcome, KellieZ! I’m glad that you found this review helpful! Hope you can grab a new one soon! π€ Good to know your son likes using this for his beard too! β€οΈ
