These are really tasty and great if you have a craving for something crunchy! I also experimented with a fantastic salt & vinegar version by first soaking raw chips in about 1/2 cup white vinegar for 15 minutes and then baking as directed above. They were so good – my kids loved them and they were gone in seconds! What a yummy and simple snack!
Hip Tip: I used a mandoline slicer
Yum I need to try these 🙂
Thank you for sharing!
Sure, enjoy!
These look sooo yummy! Thank you 🙂
I have made sweet potato chips in the past and they always come out soft in the middle, not crispy at all! Any tips? I do have my oven preheated to 375 and turn halfway through.
I find when my chips are overlapping a lot they tend to get mushy. I haven’t achieved the absolute perfect chip consistency yet. Hopefully someday 🙂
Make sure they’re super thin! Use a mandolin and sometimes I find my potatoes just seem to have a higher water content and just won’t crisp no matter what!
I do have & use my mandolin for them. Suggestion below to soak in salt water might do the trick and using a rack per Lina!
I think the key is super thin, coat them evenly, and i used a metal rack ontop of a baking sheet so air circulates better.
I’m going to try this! Just made Collins sweet potato hash with our salmon tonight and it was so good my husband was thrilled! I’m not the best at cooking so can anyone tell me about slicing these like chips? Is there anything else that I can use to cut the potatoes that’s cheaper than the mandoline? Also how would I use it if it’s my only option? Thanks again!
I found a great mandolin at Big Lots for $10. Works like a charm
Just like the “don’t shoot your eye out”, “don’t cut your hand off”. I almost lost my finger tips when I first got my mandolin.
Oh no i reccomend the kind with the hand guard! That would hurt!
I now use oven mits when I slice. , 😀
I went to make pickels on mine one time, and lost half my thumb. BE CAREFUL!!!
Salt & vinegar! I can’t wait to try this!!
This is a great alternative to potato chips in-store. There is a cancer causing agent that natural occurs when the potato chips are cooked.
Thanks Collin & Lina for these D’Lish recipes….
I actually make something close to this for natural dog treats!

I slice length wise about a third of an inch thick and bake at 225 for 3 hours. Yes, 3 hours. Sometimes I just do 2 and turn the oven off but leave them in the oven. You can use your dehydrator too. It’s great for dogs who are grain free.
Just watched a video on making these sweet potato chips and they recommend soaking them in warm water before baking. I guess it makes them crisp? I’ll have to try.
Make sure the water is salty. I soak my homemade FF is salt water first to remove the moisture.
Good tips, thanks!
How long do I soak them in vinegar and salt for?
I made the sweet potato hash tonight and it was great!! Will have to try these, thanks!!
Thanks!! Looks so yummy, gotta try it myself
Pampered Chef makes a special tray to make the chips in the microwave. Love sweet potato chips!
So does walmart got mine for $10 works perfectly.
Same with TopChips, some of theirs come with a mandolin.
My sweet potatoes always are a real orangy color. What kind of a sweet potato is this in the picture? It looks more like a white potato to me or is there something wrong with my computer?
This is a lighter skinned sweet potato. In my store they were right next to the oranger variety. thanks!
Your not getting sweet potatoes you are getting yams that’s why they are orange
Thanks! This, plus the fries recipe you posted on my last question and Collins hash recipe will be great to use up my sweet potatoes!
I love these three ingredient recipies. Keep em coming
Looks delicious! I need to start using coconut oil in potato chip preparation as well.
These are absolutely amazing. So quick and easy to make. However, I just used a carrot peeler and sliced the potatoes lengthwise added them to a bowl and drizzled with olive oil. Then added them to the baking sheet and sprinkled with salt and pepper. Just make sure to leave enough space for the slices to crisp up nicely. I’ve overcrowded the slices before.
great tip!
Thank you, Lina! I do not have a mandolin, but I just got a Cuisinart Food Processor for Christmas with fine and medium slicing blades. Has anyone ever tried using a medium slicing blade to make chips? Thanks!
Does anyone have a good smoothie recipe? I generally use frozen fruit (cherries this week), coconut milk, spinach, agave, and Greek yogurt.
I made these and put them in a large freezer bag with the coconut oil and cinnamon and then baked them. They were Awesome.
