These Easy Blackberry Cream Cheese Tarts Require Only 5 Ingredients
Impress your holiday party guests with these yummy and fancy looking blackberry cream cheese tarts!
Here’s a treat to consider making if you’re in full-on baking mode like me.
These delicious blackberry cream cheese pastries look like they came from a trendy bakery, but they are actually super simple to create at home using store-bought pie crusts and require just five ingredients! There’s not a special pan you need to use and they don’t require a pastry bag or any special equipment. This recipe is easy peasy!
These cream cheese tarts would be a perfect make-ahead Christmas morning snack or breakfast treat. Since they are made with pie dough, the kids would have fun helping you make them as a baking activity! Just fill, pinch the ends together, and bake.
After baking, the results taste similar to warm gooey little bite-sized pieces of blackberry pie with a sweet cream cheese filling wrapped in a buttery pie crust. The flavor and texture combo is so YUM, and these are fun to make!
Helpful hip tips when making these blackberry tarts:
- To prep the tarts ahead of time, arrange all tarts on baking sheets and store them covered in the fridge. When ready to enjoy, just pop them in the oven and they’ll be freshly baked for your guests!
- You can change up the filling to any preserve or spread you’d like! I bet fig spread or cranberry would taste just as amazing for this idea. Maybe even a bit of cherry pie filling would be yummy and look festive for the holidays. It’s up to you!
- Store your pastries in a covered container in the fridge for up to 4-5 days. Truth be told, they taste outstanding even when cold, but they will likely disappear before that time frame! 😂

Squares of pie crust with cream cheese and blackberry filling make for a yummy treat or brunch item!
Ingredients
- 8 oz. package of cream cheese, softened
- 2 pre-made refrigerated pie crust dough (or homemade equivalent)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- blackberry jam (or your favorite jam)
- all-purpose flour (for dusting rolling surface)
Directions
1
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Prep a cookie sheet with parchment paper or non-stick spray.
2
In a mixing bowl, cream together powdered sugar, cream cheese, and vanilla extract.
3
Unroll the pie crust on a floured surface. With a pizza cutter or knife, cut crust into 3-inch squares. If you have scraps, just roll out more squares using a rolling pin. I was able to make about 11 squares per pie crust.
4
Place a scant teaspoon of cream cheese in each square on the diagonal, followed by a teaspoon of the jam.
5
Fold sides in and pinch it together a little in the middle so they stay closed.
6
Place on the baking sheet and bake for 16-17 minutes until crust is lightly browned.

This recipe makes about 22 tarts in total. Serve warm or at room temperature. Store leftovers in a covered container in the fridge (they are also great served cold!)

My Dollar Tree has imported (Egyptian) jams. I think they come in strawberry and orange. Just an idea to keep the cost down because sometimes jam can be expensive.

I thought I would try these in the mini muffin tin with some cranberry relish instead of jam.
Cool! Yes i have made them using a small star shaped cookie cutter then press each one in a mini muffin pan. They turn out cute.
Can I use bought in shortbread tart shells
We haven’t tried using those, but we’re sure it would be yummy! I would follow the directions on the package for bake time. 🙂
Do you think wonton wrappers could be substituted for the pie crust?
Ya that could be great! Let us know 👍
I might try puff pastry sheets or shells instead of the pie crusts.
Nice! Let us know how it turns out!
Could these be frozen ?
Yes. I think they would do very well honestly!
