Easy Chia Seed & Berry Jam – Just THREE Ingredients (Ready in Only 15 Minutes)
Take advantage of inexpensive berries and whip up some easy homemade jam using healthy Chia seeds. Not only are Chia seeds loaded with fiber, protein, and Omega 3 but they also do a great job of thickening homemade jam! Use this yummy jam on toast, yogurt, oatmeal, and of course peanut better & jelly sandwiches.
Easy Chia Seed Berry Jam
Delicious jam recipe to use as a breakfast spread or dessert topping.
Ingredients
- 2 cups berries (I used a mix of blueberries, strawberries, & raspberries)
- 2 Tablespoons raw honey (or choice of sweetener)
- 2 Tablespoons water
- 2 Tablespoons Chia Seeds (I found a bag for $2.99 in the produce section of my local grocery store)
Directions
1
In large bowl, mash or blend berries and add water (I used a hand blender).
2
Transfer to saucepan and cook over medium heat for about five minutes and then add honey.
3
Cook for another 5 minutes turning up heat until bubbling. Stir in Chia seeds and let cool.
4
Pour into jelly jars and refrigerate. The mixture will thicken up beautifully. Keep in fridge for about 1-2 weeks.

Love the chia seeds ! I’m planning on going to the market tomorrow for fresh fruit and will do a jam with honey ! Perfect since I’m trying to loose weight too
Yum! This looks so good, I recently just got into chia seeds adding them to yogurt and making chia pudding, I also am addicted to mama chia squeeze packets. Can’t wait to try this recipe, thanks.
How do you make the Chia pudding??
This is how I make mine, I don’t like the taste of plain chia seed pudding so I add cocoa powder.

Lina, do you know if this freezes well?
I’ve read that it does freeze, but haven’t tried. If anyone has tried let us know. 🙂
This looks so yummy! I have a huge bag of Chia seeds and don’t know how to incorporate them. Got any more ideas??
I put chia seeds in my homemade freezer granola bars. Mashed bananas, honey, peanut butter, chia seeds, flax seeds, coconut, craisens, almonds and rolled oats. Mix together and place in pan to freeze. Eat frozen.
I’m going to make these, thanks! I make oatmeal peanut butter balls all the time but never thought to freeze as bars
Thanks!
Thank you for the recipe! Will be great cold on a scorching day here in deep South Texas!
Yes, we are in Deep South Texas too or as I like to sometimes call it northern Mexico, since are not too far from the border. Which area are you? 🌺
I can’t wait to try this.

Sure- Thanks for reading Moni!
Can this be canned the same way as traditional jam?
The best combination I came across is cranberry and chia jam. You can even use frozen cranberries. Same method as above, but use orange juice and maple syrup as a sweetener instead, mash the cranberries and then add chia. Low glycemic index and loaded with vitamin C.
Wow- sounds delicious Alyssa!
Awesome idea to use up the fresh cranberries stowed away in my freezer! 🙂
If you want to get any of the health benefits of he honey, don’t heat it. Heating honey kills everything good leaving just sugar taste and no health benefits
